Just wondering.. Does anyone watch this? I've caught both episodes thus far, and think it is really good.. I love how they are focusing on the Yankees clubhouse as well as outside events like the mayor runnings, and Son of Sam.. What does everyone else think about it? Just trying to get some other opinions on it.
I've watched them both, and for the most part have enjoyed them. Sometimes I think it gets (for lack of a better word) choppy and I'm not sure I like the guy who plays George. Other than that, I don't really have other complaints. I know I'll keep watching.
I agree that Oliver Platt is not a good fit for George Steinbrenner. That was the first thing I thought during the first episode, is how he didn't seem like a good fit. The way he talks annoys me at times too, but I'm not sure, and George Steinbrenner may have actually been like that back in the late 70's. Who knows?
As an avid Yankee hater and the fact ESPN rarely produces watchable stuff other than Sportscenter and games I decided to give this a try. I just couldn't handle it. I thought the acting wasn't that great (like I am an expert lol) and casting wasn't done too well. Well I take that back the fella playing Billy Martin plays the role fairly well.
