Introductory PC - Tennessee Titans

*Jeff Fisher takes to the podium*

Fisher: "In this strange event of an owner takeover, it seems odd to say the least that I am introducing my new boss...But here we are. Of course I would say this, but from the time we have spent working together, the future looks bright for this Franchise, and Im delighted to be a part of it.

Ladies, and Gentlemen...The new owner and general manager of the Tennessee Titans...Mr Ross-Wood."

*Claps and flash photography fill the room*

Mr Ross-Wood: "Thank you..Thanks a lot. As my first act, to show my full embodyment of this Franchise, in all matters related to us, I shall refer to myself, and be referred to simply as Titans"

**[Note, this is basically to make it more simple for us all]**

Titans: To the fans, and you guys of the media, it seems fitting I give some justification and explaination for the moves my reign has so far overseen - and Im actually anxious to do so, to share our vision with you. I think they have been fairly controversy free, and actually, without meaning to toot our own horns, we feel we have made some very good moves. That is until now, when fans can quite rightly question moving such a valuable guy in Keith Bulluck.

This move was not something we ever anticipated doing. However, in Sheldon Brown we pick up a boarderline elite Corner that can form a fantastic duo, most likely with Pac. This leaves us with Andre Dyson as a Nickel Corner, which we feel is his most suited position. However, this in our minds was not enough to lose such a brilliant player and person, being Keith Bulluck of course. The other logic is that, through no fault of their own, Andre and Pac have had a bad injury history, and as such, Sheldon Brown should prove to be a rock in the secondary, that prior to my reign, was by far the most supsect area.

Sad as we are to see Bulluck go, we are excited to see what McCoy, and Hodge can do, and feel we have some good young, quick guys at that spot, which of course, David Thornton now anchors.

Without wishing to go into too many details, we have ultimately traded very little, bar Keith Bulluck, which we have not replaced with better talent. Two guys we are very very excited about here in Nashville are WR Chris Henry, and Running Back Jerious Norwood.

Chris showed some fantastic things his rookie year, and as 3rd WR in Cinci, we felt he would blossom here as a starter, and adds great physical attributes to our WR Corps.

At RB, we had great depth, but when taking over, I found that we had three power backs, and in a league where a 1-2 tandem at RB is considered a necessity, a mix up of pace is vital, hence trading White for Norwood. Jerious, I believe, has a bright future in the league with his size, and quickness, and will get some reps his rookie year.

Other additions are bringing back Tank, who is a great player, and I know Jeff never wanted to let him go, I wanted him back here, as did he. And to pre empt any questions, Chris (Hope) will move to FS, while Tank occupies that SS spot, and helps somewhat in run support. We brought in Scott Fujita, who is at the prime of his career, and as such should really help us out, and see some reps. Also noteworthy is the aquistion of Dan Cody, who we are playing at his college position of DE, where we feel he was naturally born to play..We cant wait to see what he does opposite KVB.

Now, to address a high profile trade, DJ Williams...*Sighs*...This has to be the lowlight of my short time here. We feel he is undoubtedly top 5 as far as Outside Line backers go in the league, and were prepared to pay very highly for him...I do think a little too high. This has since been outbid, and we will not be upping our price, as we do not feel it is not an outbid full stop, and have had a very tough time in negotiations with the other parties. It would be negligent on our part to acknowledge we are overpaying, and have had several messages from co-owners saying so, to up our bid. Whilst we wanted to excite fans bringing him in, it simply cannot happen under these circumstances, and Im sure you appreciate, we did our utmost.

We are happy with our LBs, but are on the lookout for any avaliable talent as we are for many positions.

As far as how I see this team right now, I think we have a strong secondary, which I feel is crucial in building a successful team, a good defensive line, a great RB tandem to take some pressure off Vince, who should progress nicely with Chris Henry. I think we are a very young squad, with good speed all over the field, and as such, feel we have a very bright future. I am fully prepared to back Jeff in anything he wants to do, and guys he would like to pick up, and have already shown this. I know our partnership will be a memorable one for Titans fans.

The guard has changed, and the yard short this team was against St Louis will be, and is being overcome.

I am happy to take any questions you may have!

Mr. ... Titans, what would your say are some realistic goals your team has for this year and offseason?

Thanks for your question.

I felt we should aim to make the playoffs straight off the bat. And we still do, however, we will not add a piece to the puzzle to force this issue, if it cripples us in the long run.

Ultimately, this year we are rolling with a rookie QB, a fantastically talented one, but rookie nonetheless..And in general, we are a very young team. We want to realistically break .500. Our schedule is very very tough, and this will be an achievement which we will build on, and be on the road to the top of the food chain.

Any more questions?

Mr. Titans, what percentage of the carries do you see Jerious Norwood getting this year? Will it be close to a 50% split between he and Travis Henry or more for Henry?

Tough to say to be honest with you. I know Jeff wants to play it by ear. I think it entirely depends upon the production we see from both guys. Going into the season, Travis is the starter and likely will stay as such barring injury.

I think ideally a 70 30 split, in order to mix it up and keep both guys fresh. But come game time, that may rise or decline, and also depends upon what we see from the opposing teams D and who best to attack it.

Thanks for your question, any more?

In saying you are happy with your Line Backing Corps... Are you not the least concerned about the youth and inexperience you have at the Mike Line Back position?

Im not sure that I am concerned, more aware.

The reason I am so is because for a rookie, Abdul Hodge does the fundamentals extraordinarily well, he really wraps guys up when he tackles. He's got great potential, and while potential is often considered a dirty word, his fundamentals, and speed should allow him to make plays for us, and really progress.

I appreciate your question, any others?

With a lot free money in salary caps for next, which positions are you looking most to upgrade in the next FA?
And with star LB Keith Bulluck leaving, how do your team will compensate his loss?

Thank you both for your questions.

I think that its hard to say having nearly completed an offseason what our goals will be for next offseason, but right now, if I was to hazard a guess, I would say WR may be a spot we would look for - However, it depends on the production we get from the guys we have. And possibly LB with the loss of Keith, but we have yet to see how that will effect us.

We have a group of guys that can really come in and make some plays for us at the LB position. Dave (Thornton) should anchor the position quite well, whilst Hodge, Scott (Fujita) and Matt McCoy whom we just brought in, will fight for the other two spots. All of whom we think give us a good degree of speed at the position, enabling them to make up for possible mistakes in what would be McCoy's first full season, and Hodge's rookie year.

As far as the second question goes, Vince Young is in his rookie year. As a rookie, QB may be the hardest position to adapt to in the NFL, as the transition from College is a huge step up. Vince has a very powerful arm, and can really run, we think this should allow him to make some plays. We are going to give him the freedom to run and make throws he wants to make. Im sure there will be some mistakes along the way, but I think he can fare very well with his physical tools, and great character.

Any further questions?

Thanks for your question.

I dont envision a situation where we go back to Collins. As far as we are concerned, Vince has impressed in Camp, he looks ready to start, and we feel he gives us the best chance to win games.

Now obviously as a rookie he will make some mistakes, the team and organisation accepts that. He is not on a short leash. We want him to go out there, get a feel for the game and the NFL, and any mistakes he makes will be beneficial in the long run.

Of course we hope his transition is smooth, but accept there will be rocky patches. As I say, I find it hard to think of a situation where a healthy Vince is benched, as he is our guy.

Any more questions?
