This is not a big thing to discuss, but I think maybe some of us are agreeing with me that Penalty shootings aren’t the right way to finish games, especially not when the winning side should get a big trophy or win a big championship title. Penalty shootings are just unfair and pure gambling.
Yesterday we had the final of the Champions League which ManU won on Penalties 7-6 against Chelsea. Both teams played well and it was a nice match.
But I think in the result such an important championship title like the Champions League title should not be won by shooting some balls and relying on luck. I think the winner has really to deserve his win and has to work for it.
Who thinks the same? And if it should not be decided by Penalties what else could it look like to come to a decision?
I say let these guys play till the first goal is scored. And even if it takes 1 more hour. These people are professional soccer players and can easily play even 90 minutes more. Big trophies and championships should not be decided by luck…

I have nothing but good memories of playing for the Bills. It's something I cherish. When I was playing for the Pats, I'd wear a Bills T-shirt under my uniform. Someone came up to me one day and said, 'Fred, no matter what you wear on the outside, you,ll always be a Buffalo Bill on the inside.'
I think its part and parcel of the Sport. And most neutrals love Penalties. I wouldnt take them away. They are harsh, but ultimately, you have yourself to blame if you dont beat the team outright in 120 minutes. Thats plenty of time.

Yes, I think Penalties are a part of the game, even if they are a big gamble in the end. I can agree to that despite still thinking about possibilities if there arent better ways of coming to a decision in games.
But as long not someone comes up with the ultimate new idea to make things better and more fair they are a big part of Soccer.
If your not able to finish a game in 120 minutes your nerves and luck has to decide the game for or against your team...

I think it's pretty much like that for any sport. You never want to let the other team win off a foul or a penalty, but if it is a blatant you have to call it.
I think in soccer it's pretty damn exciting, personally - but again, I sadly am not as into soccer as lot of people in Europe and various places across the globe are. Really wish it would become more popular in the States as I really enjoy watching it.
For the neutral they are great. For the fan of either team, they are the worst thing in the world, and no-one enjoys them.
I think the fact remains, they are part of the game, and 120 minutes is enough time to beat a team. Added to the fact if you just kept going till someone scored, it would be through virtue of tiredness quite possibly, and the quality of the game would be severely comprimised...
