...Goes to Manchester United. Unfortunately obviously from my perspective.
I think when we look back on the season, you would say United were favourites to win, and probably deserve it.
After all, Chelsea were only top for 6 days during the season. We had those couple of freak results early on, like the away draw with Villa, that led to the departure of Jose Mourinho, and shot ourselves in the foot. I seem to remember United starting slowly, and we could have built a lead early.
Then when you look to the immediate past, the draw at home with Wigan lost us the title, its really that simple.
Gutting that we didnt win it back, but at the same time, I have a lot of respect for the players for pushing it that far considering the Managerial position (who of late, has obviously learnt a thing or two, and is picking decent teams.) But not only that, the African Cup Of Nations which took away arguably our two best players in Drogba and Essien. And the sheer number of injuries, Drogba missed 30 games for example. Along with the fact Carvalho and Terry played only something like 10 games together. Thats tough to deal with.
I genuinely believe we are the better team, and should come away with the Champions League title though.
Looking to next year in the EPL, we cannot afford the weird results we had, such as both draws to Villa (epic though the 2nd game was), the home draw to that overhead kick last minute to Cahill and Everton, that crazy game against Tottenham where we conceded on 3 set pieces, the most UnChelsea performance I have ever seen...And then the glaring mistake of the home draw to Wigan.
I think also what is worthy of note looking back at the season is the willingness to give up a lead under Avram Grant. Its like he cant decide if we should carry on attacking, or shut up shop. Chelsea are the best team in the world at shutting up shop (at least they were under Mourinho). And in his efforts to make us an attacking team, Grant has neglected that. It needs to be addressed for next year.
Oh I almost forgot. Christiano Ronaldo. He should take HUGE credit in their taking of the title. Without him, unquestionably they would not have won. He has been talismanic. And scored more goals individually than entire teams. Anyone watching them for the season would vouch for how incredibly important he has proved.
Just my thoughts sparked by this weekend and the EPL season. Very painful to write so soon after Manchester United were crowned..

To make it short; You said it, ManU deserved it.
ManU is an amazing story. From a no-name Soccer club to one of the biggest, richest and most respected and most successful Soccer clubs in world Soccer history (and all that by own hard work). I applaud ManU, congrats!!

I have nothing but good memories of playing for the Bills. It's something I cherish. When I was playing for the Pats, I'd wear a Bills T-shirt under my uniform. Someone came up to me one day and said, 'Fred, no matter what you wear on the outside, you,ll always be a Buffalo Bill on the inside.'
I really wish you would stop blowing smoke up their ***. You dont know the full story Billster about where they came from, and how they are where they are. They are nearly 1 billion pounds in debt...Did you know that?
Im not preaching, cos I am Chelsea fan. But Im not the guy acting as though Manchester United were built from the ground on hard work unbacked by investment...Cos thats BS.
So please, stop calling it "an amazing story" and learn the facts before you comment.

Really dissapointed by the title result, the two key results that lost it for us were probably the Draws against Tottenham (4-4) and Wigan (1-1). In both we threw away good leads, more so in the Tottenham match.
Just something I wanted to throw out to you TR. I'm pretty sure you won't read this until after the Final, but just forget the result of this match for the minute. Should Grant be out manager next year?

As a Chelsea fan I think I would show the same unrespectful behaviour now....... Glad I am not a Chelsea fan

Chelsea fans admit their success is bought, because it is.
Man U fans wont admit their success is bought, and it is.

I actually had a chance to watch some of this game, strangely enough. They managed to air it on ESPN2, which is pretty unusual. I had a lot of fun watching it, considering I'm not really a fan of either teams.
Sorry about the loss TR and GoPack. I was actually kind of rooting for Chelsea during the game for some reason.
I really wish ESPN would show more European soccer as I feel like everyone is just more into it than they are here. The fans are into it, the players, the coaches, the TV analysts, etc. It's a lot of fun to watch.
Im still in no fit state to talk about the game. Im so annoyed I couldnt begin to.

I was resigned to watching this game via Gamecast on Soccernet.com due to being at work while the game was played ... Ugh ... that's pretty much all I have to say about it right now. Really disappointed and from the sounds of it we really outplayed Man U in the second half and extra time.
And then with Terry having a chance to win it ... ugh.
Nothing would have made me happier to have won thanks to a miss by Ronaldo.

Ugh, I know, that would've been so sweet.
I've figured out now, that there are 2 types of people I hate. Glory supporters and idiots. My school is full of em

hey guys i'm back
anyway about the 07/08 season, as a man utd fan i will first to admit we didn't really deserve the titles but there you go things happen like that.
lol, could someone tell me this 'amazing' story please because i have no idea about it *shrugs* as for ronaldo or the almighty gay one he may have been talismanic but probably about 10-15 of his goals were penalties (not all true ones aswell) and i think there are quite a few players who can take free kicks but actually stay on their feet for longer than a few minutes and therefore don't get them so thats about another 10 goals
42-15= 27 27-17= 10 quite a few players scored more that were good goals feel free to disagree if you want personally i want him gone sooner rather than later so we can 'cash' in so to speak.
