Barcelona had a good run, but they got beat by an amazing goal by Scholes. If Barca has a healthy Ronaldinho who was on his game setting up Henry and Eto'o then I think it would have swung the Spaniards way. I thoroughly dislike the EPL and Manchester United, so seeing two English clubs battle for the Champions League title will be a little sour. Nonetheless it should be fun to see if Chelsea or Liverpool will have enough firepower to take on the Red Devils.
Can you please justify why you dislike the best league in the world?

When I see your username I understand you, my friend... But the Serie A isn’t the big league it was once, let’s say 10 years ago. It is still among the top 3 leagues of Europe but I don’t think it is No.1. Just look at the 4 teams playing the semi-finals in the Champions League Chelsea, Liverpool, ManU and Barca. 3 of them are English teams and one is from Spain. This should tell you something.
BTW, I don’t like the way the English Premier League developed when I see guys like Chelseas Abramovic coming from Russia and taking over teams and pumping in millions of dollars, even if it makes some teams successful. Identification is losing, money is winning... But money and success aren’t everything for real Soccer fans. It will backfire someday. English teams playing 1 or 2 or even without a single English citizen on the field… Can you still call them an English team? But that is another hot topic.

I have nothing but good memories of playing for the Bills. It's something I cherish. When I was playing for the Pats, I'd wear a Bills T-shirt under my uniform. Someone came up to me one day and said, 'Fred, no matter what you wear on the outside, you,ll always be a Buffalo Bill on the inside.'
Well thats whole different subject. And a bit rich coming from a guy who's own team's best player is Brazilian...
Serie A? Are you having a laugh! Liverpool DOMINATED Inter Milan. And they are 4th in our league, but Inter are 1st in yours...Thats just one demonstration. Roma, the last two years. 7-1 to United! Thats just embarassing.
Then lets look at how players generally perform in Italy compared to England. Shevchenko? Need I say any more? No I neednt, but I will. Veron.
Then lets look at the quality of the football played, and the difference in time on the ball is just incredible. Though admittedly, you guys arent as bad as Spain in this respect.
Then lets look at the Champions League right now. An ALL ENGLISH FINAL. 3 of the last 4 teams two years in a row being English. An English finalist in the last 4 finals from my recollection.
Yes, its opinionated. But looking at the facts, its kind of hard to argue the case for another league being better right now. EPL, La Liga, Serie A is the order of the top 3 for my money right now. Though I think both Spain and Italy's leagues pale in comparison to England's.

If your talking with me, your right TR. Yes, 7 Germans and 4 foreign players including one of the worlds best Middlefielders with Diego... 7 Germans in the starting line-up regularly
Man, when was the last time Chelsea had 7 Englishmen to start for the team? 1985? 1990? ....
This would make a cool debate. Are too many foreigners in teams killing the own talents and what to think about the identification with these clubs?

Well apart from Klose, to me, he seems like your only threat.
And just tell me, how is that whole 7 Germans in your side treating you? Where did you get to this year in the Champions League? Hell when was the last time you did anything of note in the Champions League?
Ill take our 4 regular England players and 7 foreigners and the Champions League final over your situation, ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.

Well, I am not a Soccer of my team fan cause my team is so successful (it even is) I am a fan of this club cause they are a great fit for fans loving hard work and hard earned success and not beeing a 'synthetic' club depending on others money. I am not talking about a particular club here, there is already a long list of those clubs existing.
But the thing which is more fundamtental for me is what Soccer means for me (or you)...
Is Soccer just the success or is it more? I think it is much more. But everyone has his own opinion on this.
BTW, didnt they beat Chelsea last year in the Champs league ? 1:0!! By a header of young german defender Peer Mertesacker... A cool guy.
Soccer reall should be much more than a bunch of people from all over the world playing for your team.

No it shouldnt. It should be a show of the best players in the world. Forget Nationalities...
Football to me is Entertainment, great Entertainment at that. The better the quality, the more entertaining.
And to be a FAN of a team, you want to see them do well. I wouldnt be satisfied with what I had if I was a Werder Bremen fan...

Well, the team you choose is a preference you set for yourself. You wouldn’t be happy as a Werder Fan and I wouldn’t be very happy as a Chelsea fan.
I think in England I would be a ManU fan. But I would say we should discuss that only in one thread and I think the other one is a better fit…

That is correct. I have been a Chelsea fan for life, and Ambromovich is the best thing that ever happened to us. The worst thing to ever happen to us was losing Mourinho...
I mean dont get me wrong, I had nothing against Ken Bates before Roman, but ultimately, money is necessary to have consistent success in the best leagues, and the best league period, in the world. To deny that would be living in a fantasy world.
