Redskins 2-0 - Tri not satisfied
First, i would like to say i am very happy with how our team is looking. We are winning games and creating that all important chemistry. We are looking solid from what i have seen. The last two games have been closer than i have expected. I don't want to blame it on the players as i have been switching playbooks on them. My goal is to find the right playbook on offense and defense and also get used to them by the regular season. Clinton and Byron were sat last game and their backups continue to impress. We feel as if we have 3 quarterbacks that can start in this league and 2 HBs that can relieve some pressure of of Clinton. With that said, we are moving steadily towards our goal of being ready for the regular season. Any questions?

How effective can the playbook that you find really be when you aren't even using your starting QB?

Thats a very good point. Because most of our focus will be on running the ball, we are looking for that run central playbook. While we may not get an exact replication of how Byron will play, we feel Brad can show us the general area of success we will have. Even if we don't get the most accurate reading off of not playing Byron, we have been most fortunate in not getting any injuries and honeslty. We don't want to risk injury to our 1 and 2 guys.

Now that i think about it, we are going to try out a playbook this upcoming week (3). If it works out, which we think it will, we will probably start Byron and Portis the final game to see how we play as a team.

Byron Leftwich will be. Although Brad and Mark are making my move for Byron look really bad. Simply put Brad and Mark are playing great football. |

There are some rumors coming out that you have been in talks about trading Donovan Darius, what is the status of these rumors?

Your teams as a whole are quite old compared to the rest of the league (the average age being almost a full year higher than the next oldest team). Does this put urgency on your team making a championship run this year? If so, how do you feel about your chances to achieve it?

We have been approached on a few occasions however nothing has come of any talks yet. We are not actively looking to trade him but if the opportunity does arise, we will not rule out trading Darius.

This does put somewhat of an urgency into our organization however we feel we have a 3 year plan which will rejuvenate us after our current players hit their peaks. We feel we can compete this year but as mentioned before, and unlike other murmurs, we believe that we can compete in year 2 and 3.

Unfortunatly i missed this play because of an impromtu bathroom break, but i have faith in the both the playcalling and the players. If a situation arises where we need 2 instead of one, i have no problem with going for it.

Byron has been taking all the snaps with the 1st team offense so i believe he will only need one or so games to get in tune. Even then i won't expect him to be up to 100 % but i feel he knows the players and schemes well enough to perform at a high level by week 1.
