That would make you ignorant, not a retard.
A sim league in the instance as this board has is pretty much the "coaching" option without calling the plays. You do the draft, make subustituions before the game, change positions of players, and set your sliders. Basically everything but calling the plays or playing the guys directly.
We stream the game and owners do press conferences after the game as if they were the coach, owner, or perhaps player while other owners play the role of the reporters during the press conferences.

You don't. Basically we put a team together and make an "educated guess" and then move people through the playoffs like that...

oh, I thought i read somewhere that it would cost 2000 points. Is it also true that you have to maintain 50% activity or you get booted?

It's called Participation.
Participation (ownership), sharing something in common with others.
Participation (joining), joining with others in activities.
Participation (Finance), getting some benefit from the performance of a certain underlying asset.
This league is free and ran by the owner of this board. He has set some rules. Everyone needs to particpate and put the freaking effort in towards the league that you expect back. If you can't abide by the rules, then you're not worth being an owner.
There is alot of work that goes into making this the best damn SIM league on the NET, and in order for that to happen, Cash needs support for everything to work correctly.
To ask his owners to have Winamp(to view the games), an IM program to alert you immediately and to bid on a team starting at 2000 points is not much to ask. Why pay for a team with points? Because having points shows longevity and that someone just doesn't come to the board, ask for a team, jack it all up, piss someone off and then get banned.
