Chargers Trade Block 2006
Ok... Here we go. On the block.
I'm looking for some safeties/corners above and beyond what I have currently, which is 85+...... I would be willing to deal picks with these players to get a great one.
Steve Foley ROLB 87 OA, three years left on the contract. I'll accept a first round pick or a deal that gives him for a better DB.
Michael Turner HB 90 OA, one year left on the contract. I'll accept a first round pick or a deal that gives him for a better DB.
Drayton Florence CB 84 OA, two years left on the contract. Only in a deal for a better DB.
Roman Oben LT 85 OA, two years left on the contract.
Moving Roman out is not a priority. Not accepting pics for him, just if he's wrapped up in a deal for a Corner/Safety.

Im interested in the possibility of Florence, but Im not sure if I can meet the criteria of "above and beyond what you have at DB". Is that the only thing you are looking for?

For Florence yes... Foley and Turner can be had for picks.

Jets may be willing to give a 1st for Turner. Can we resign traded players in the new league?

No you cannot resign traded players.
You only get your bonus because hes on your team. You can always franchise one player i believe

No... All you would get is the 10 percent bonus other than having him this year. <shrugs> Next year it'll likely be a 1rst and a 3rd. <winks>

I am mildly interested in your LT Roman Oben. I am already in a deal with you sending you a star DB, is there another way i could get him?

Bills give:
CB Nate Clements ~ 90 OA : 26 Years old : 1 Year on contract
4 round pick 2007
Chargers give:
1 round pick 2007
CB Drayton Florence ~ 84 OA : 25 Years old : 2 Years left on contract
OLB Steve Foley ~ 87 OA : 30 Years old : 3 Years left on contract Chargers agree to this trade. Willing to hear outbids. I want a Corner with a 90+ speed under the age of 30 that is a 88 OA or better.
How to outbid:
More years on contract of trading CB while meeting above criteria.
Younger CB while meeting the above Criteria
Removing or reducing pick values/players more to my favor.
***Young promising players can be evaluated if it doesn't meet above criteria if they have 4+ years on contract. Such as Adrian Wilson SS for Arizona***

The only way I can concieve of Oben moving is if it was in a trade for a CB or Safety.
STILL ON THE BLOCK EXCLUDING ABOVE TRADE:
Michael Turner HB 90 OA, one year left on the contract. I'll accept a first round pick or a deal that gives him for a better DB.
Roman Oben LT 85 OA, two years left on the contract.

You know... I remember a lot of people thinking that old boy Turner is worth a first and a third pick. I think the game has him better than he really is, but given what I think he's worth, and what the rest of the world think he's worth I figured 90 OA was a nice compromise.
But if people think he's worth a first and third, why is it no one bites on him for *just* a first?
Hey, hell of a backup for the next two years... So I'm not going to complain. I just find it odd not a single person has asked, let alone made an offer, on Turner. ( In PM, or IM is what I mean... No serious offers )
I mean I get that he's on his last year of his contract. That's a pretty big deal. *I'm* not going to bid on him when he goes to the free agency. I mean duh... A first round draft pick, or a package deal isn't worth what you'd save for the the 10% in the FA?
Now you can bid on him next year and give up a first and a third, while bidding against other owners. Hell I don't mind, I'll be getting an extra pick. But why would anyone want to bid against other people, while giving up more money ( no 10% ) and ANOTHER pick?
I'm starting to think Turner just isn't everything everybody was making him out to be.

In Turner's case I think its more about the team needs. Most teams do not need a running back. As far as human contolled teams go the Jets are the only team I can think of that is in real need of | |
