Coach couldn't be here today, so here I am. We won, thats always good. I think the defense played well once again. They didn't give up any real big plays, but they did allow the Cardinals to put a long drive together at the end of the game. That seems to be a reoccuring thing with our team not getting teams off the field at the end to close out the game. That was my only real disapointment on defense.
Our offense was productive but also turned the ball over four times. You can't do that and compete on a weekly bases in this league. The Yards and the Touchdowns are nice, but more important is taking care of the football. We had two fumbles on running plays. One was Jamal and thats the second time he's fumbled this year the other was when the Oline broke down and let Walter get hit before the handoff. That is really the first breakdown that has allowed walter to get hit while he had the ball and it didn't count as a sack, so they can still brag.. 'no sacks in three games'.
The turnovers are something that needs to be fixed. We will lose to most teams with those.
Overall it was a good game we did what we needed to and now the team will prepaire for the Redskins, a team that beat us last year and have done well this year in spite of where the prognoticators have put them.

I know what you are referring to, and I'm not going to get involved in any of that. Thats between that guy and you guys and the only reason I allow it to happen is because it seems to make him play better and not affect our team.

Your offense put on a clinic today with the exception of the turnovers. Do you plan on doing anything differently against the suddenly good Skins to help your guys hold onto the ball better? I know Jamal doesnt normally fumble, so what seems to be his problem this year? Possible injury thats not being reported, or just not protecting the ball like normal?
You had a great day defensively, even with giving up the last big drive. You have to be happy only giving up two FGs, and containing the running game of the Cards.
Our defense has played good all year. But they just seem to soften up at times at the end of each half and that is frustrating when I see what this defense is capable of. This defense could set records if they played hard the whole game.
We will have a different gameplan against the Skins. We definately have to find a way to limit the turnovers and obviously our gameplan against the Cardinals was not good enough to get that done.
Jamal losing two fumbles in 3 games is surprising. but sometimes these things just happen. After looking at the gamefilm if we see something he is doing wrong or possibly a bad habbit he may be developing we will try to correct it in practice.

For Madden people the best way to explain it is that he has a very low awareness.
Any time you have a player like Mike on your team his talk can effect things so you have to monitor that and make sure not to let it get out of control, but at the same time you know that he is confident, and his confidence can be a boost in situations also. Mike is a born leader and so far he has played well for us. There are a few things he has said that we feel he should have came to us with, but he is a rookie, and sometimes we say things in frustration. You can ask the Panthers ownership about that.

How would you rank your defense when compared to some of the best of all time like the 1985 Bears or is it too early to make those comparisons?
Any chance we will see Mike Williams kicking field goals this week?
At this point its to early to even say our defense is one of the best in the league this year. I don't think stats show anything until at least week 6. But we aren't even ranked #1 this year now. We would have to do that before we go comparing ourselves to the best defenses of all time.
Due to league rules only kickers and punters can kick the ball, otherwise we might just have seen it.
