Coach Fox, GM Stepp, and Drew Brees walk into the press room.
GM Stepp speaks up first....
This kind of play will not be tolerated on any level by me and sure as heck not by my coaching staff. I dont know what the heck you think you were doing out there Drew but we specifically said to run the freaking ball. We were doing that good and then you get inside the twenty and what you want stats or something?????? Throw three straight passes including a 103 TD for the Bucs?????? We are still in the game somewhat and then with less than a minute to go you throw a nice 53 yard TD.......TO THE BUCS AGAIN.......
GM Stepp motions to the side of the room The equipment manager runs up to the stage with a box of unknown things.
GM Stepp looks at Brees and say "Do you have anything to say for your pathetic play?"
Mr. Stepp Im reall...............(GM Stepp cuts in) Shut the hell up I dont want to hear your pathetic excuses. Get our of your uniform and take your stuff. I took the liberty of emptying your locker out and bringing your belongings out here to you........Brees gets up to head to the locker room.
Son you are no longer a member of the Panthers so you are not allowed in the locker room. Change your clothes here. Your done. Good luck....maybe you should sign with the bucs since you seem to love their team so much.
Coach Fox you now have the room. GM Stepp leaves the press room steaming
Well honestly our guys didnt play too badly on Defense. Only gave up 240 yards today. You cannot overcome two defensive tds and a fumble on the 8 yard line though. That is 21 free points they got.
One reason we had to let Brees go is because the offensive linemen said they would not protect him anymore. Can you tell that by the sacks they gave up in the second half?
Offensively Foster had a good game. If we would have stuck to our gameplan, he would of had a great game. Gage and Northcutt had nice games as well.
Umm...*Looks around* Is it hard for Brees to follow the gameplan when down 14-0 after the first quarter? I mean, he threw some bad balls, but it's hard to hand off when you're down that much right off the bat.

Well we wouldnt have been down that much if he wouldnt have thrown the pic in the end zone. We had been running th ball very nicely up to that point. get inside the red zone and then i think he tried to pat his stats. Its not safe for Drew to play here anymore so hes gone. I understand he had to pass after we got down. He is the main reason we were down that much in the first place. Also i think he thought the line judge was on our team as many passes got thrown to him.
GM Stepp has invited Drew Brees back to the ball club. Since the paperwork has not been submitted to the league yet. In a statement GM Stepp said:
"I really overreacted towards the game today and was very disappointed. Things happen and Drew isnt the only reason we lost todays game. Tampa has a great team and they just flat out made the plays to win todays game. I have talked to Brees and apologized for humiliating him. He played alright and dont deserve to be dumped from the Panthers. He has earned his roster spot here. Just because a guy has a couple of bad games is no reason to put him in front of the firing squad. We do plan to have some intense study this wee to find out what went wrong however. Our offensive line have been talked to and they understand. They are passionate players and understand that Drew is on the team and they will protect whoever their QB is regardless of what they feel. They are professionals and we will not accept anyone letting our QB getting sacked on purpose."
So there is no chance we could see Kerry Collins come back to lead the Panthers?
There is a chance. Drew knows he has to play better this week. We did bring Kerry in for a workout and we liked what we saw. He left with a playbook, and hopefully he learns it fast cause who knows what will happen next.
