Raiders Week 2 PC

I’m sure that was a fun game to watch, but it sure had my blood pumping! I think this week we were a bit more on track with what we wanted to do out there. I guess I’ll try and break this down a bit.

Although it seems we found a bit more balance, our offensive production still leaves me wanting. Hasselback still seems to need to find his groove, and we need to find a way to give Portis more carries. The later might just help the former in that case. I think the questions around Phillip Buchanon’s ability to play receiver should start to come to rest, as he had a decent game today. If he can keep improving, he will make a fine wide out.

The Defense really seemed to respond well to what we wanted to do today. Our goal this week was to get more aggressive to cause some turnovers, and we definitely accomplished that goal. We did give up more yards on the ground, and I wasn’t expecting to give up as much through the air as we did, but when we needed to step up and make plays we did.

All in all I think we are starting to get on the right track. This game could have gone differently if we hadn’t come on those turnovers, but luckily I think this win will help us to find our groove.

Do you feel you are getting enough production out of Clinton Portis? Do you feel that you dominated this game minus the turnovers?

How do you feel about the play of Rolle so far ? Can we expect the Raiders to make any moves towards getting another wide out or will you stick with what you have now?

I think at this point we just aren't utilizing Clinton the way we should. He had a good game today, I just think we need to give him the ball more.

I don't think we dominated this game in any way shape or form. I'm looking at this as a fortunate learning experience. Like I said before, although I think we gave up more yards on defense, I like the way they responded to the changes we made over the week. As for the offense, I think we have learned in the past two games, and will continue to make changes till we find a plan that works. Until we find a balance, it will be harder to make the proper adjustments against particular teams.

Well, Sami did get 7 tackles and his first INT of the year today, so I was pleased. We'll see if he keeps it up.

As far as making any more moves.... I think we have a good team right now. I don't think mixing up the roster would be the best thing at this point. We just need to have everyone calm down and gel, so we can start winning games consistanly.
