Disturbed: Today was a good game for us. I was pleased with the effort on both sides of the ball. The score doesn't really show it but I very we were definately in control of this game from beginning to end.
For the second straight week the opposition has tried to come out and attack us through the air. For the second straight week we saw the opposing QB struggle to complete passes against us.
Offensively we started out looking like a machine. Matt Leinart hit every pass until mid way through the 2nd quarter then his youth started to show. The 3 interceptions were not what we were hoping for but other than those 3 bad passes Matt was pretty solid. Hopefully he can take the many things he did well in this game and apply those to next weeks game against Tampa Bay.
The running game once again got off to a very slow start and then it picked up. Taylor has been everything we hoped for so far. The only thing I can look at as a negative is his yards per carry but in both our games that has been hurt by a poor start. I expect that to improve but as long as we keep finishing strong, that is the important thing to me.
On defense I don't know what to say about these guys. I took a little over 7 quarters for them to give up thier first touchdown of the season. They have just been playing great. No complaints at all. Nothing but praise for the way they have played.
I really hope we can continue to play at this level. If we do, I think we have a chance to win some more games and make a push for the divisional crown.
with Lienart throwing 3 picks this game, if Bledsoe goes down again, should we still expect Lienart starting?

For Madden people the best way to explain it is that he has a very low awareness.

Yep. We have all the confidence in the world in that young man. He started out the game playing like a seasoned vet. His first incomplete pass didn't come until near halftime and then they came in a rush.
The Falcons made some good adjustments at the half that seemed to confuse Matt but other than that we were pleased with the way he played.
Your D has been dominate in the first two weeks so far. Do you feel that there is an offense out there that possibly scares you and your D?
The games scores is a lot closer than the game play. Is this due to mis-execution on offense and turnovers on offense, or is it just one or the other?
Anything you look to improve on with your team or are you pretty happy with the results so far?
The Bengals offense scared us. I was totally shocked that we held them to no touchdowns and only gave up the 2 field goals which were a result of turnovers on our side of the field.
I have to be honest. This team is playing much better than I thought they would. I really felt like the front office made too many moves and had really hurt this team. These guys, in the first two games, have really proved me wrong.
As far as the score of the game being so close I have to give credit to Atlanta for hanging in there and making big play after big play on defense. We would drive the ball and then a big interception would happen. I believe that Atlanta was able to confuse Leinart into some bad throws. Hopefully this doesn't continue in the following weeks.
For your final question, there is a list of things I want to improve on. Our ability to run the ball early in games. Not throwing interceptions. Taking all the pressure that we have been getting on quarterbacks and translating that into more sacks.
The thing that I am most pleased with, other than the play of the defense, has been the ability of both quarterbacks to get the ball to several different receivers. I feel we have a very talented bunch and its great to see all of them get the ball.
Are you concerned with Reggie Wayne's lack of production through the first two weeks (4 catches, 50 yards)?
Not at all. Im sure that people who have been paying close attention to our games will notice that Carlos Francis has replaced Wayne on many plays during the games. The reason for this is Francis, Fred Gibson, and rookie Troy Williamson give us what we feel are better game breaking threats.
Reggie will get his playing time but it will be limited due to the great talent of guys that we have at the wide receiver position. We have tried to think of other ways to get him involved but we just haven't come up with any as of right now.
Maybe he just isn't a fit for what we want to do on offense and his playing time will probably continue to reflect that.
It sounds like one the moves your front office made in the offseason that you may disagree with was the acquisition of Reggie Wayne. Is this the case? If so, are you is talks to move him anywhere? where would you feel your team needed strenthening in to make a move like that?

Reggie won't be going anywhere. He would be too big of a cap hit to trade. Chances are he will continue to get minimal playing time. We might look to get him in more sets but that just depends on the matchups we face each week.
