That was a very physical, intense game to start out the season and we were very fortunate to come out on top. Our defense played extremely well in this game, and kept us in it long enough for us to take the lead and eventually win it. On offense we had a few bright spots, and a couple of nice drives, but there was still something missing that we hope to figure out here early in the season.
Joey played an average game. His interception near the end of the first half turned out to be a six point swing and we are very lucky that didnt cost us the game against a team like Green Bay. He did a nice job spreading the ball around and used almost every receiver that came into the game. KJ started off another season with a great performance. We did not plan on giving him that many carries but as we all know he can handle that kind of workload when the game dictates it.
Our Defensive Line really played outsanding today. We didn't go after Green Bay with a lot of blitzes but we still came away with five sacks. Erick Hicks had a great first performance as a Lion. He was in the backfield all day and finished with 5 tackles and 2 sacks. Our secondary also had a great game holding McCown under 200 yds, and they really eliminated the Packers wide receivers.
As is usually the case after week one we have a lot of improving to do, and our schedule wont get any easier these next few weeks. It doesnt get any better than beating last years division champ in week one so we will enjoy this one and then start preparing for the 49ers.
Any questions?

Your team gave up over 6 yards per carry to the Packers. Will there be a change in your defensive gameplan next week against the 49ers and Jamal Lewis?

Ok, good. In my opinion, you're an idiot. Good thing I can't be wrong!

Our plan in this game was to shut down their passing game and make their running game beat us. We were successful in doing that and if we dont give up the big run to Tatum we would have dominated.
When you look at the niners offense Jamal Lewis is obviously their biggest threat. You must contain him, but you cant commit your whole defense to him because their wideouts can make you pay. Last week Jamal played a good game rushing for 119 yds and 5 per carry, and they still lost. We need to keep Jamal around the 4 per carry mark and see if walter can make the plays to keep drives alive.

It appears that you will have to leave your corners on an island in your upcoming game against the 49'ers. How do you think they will respond?
I think our corners can definitely handle the challenge. If you look a this weeks game, Green Bays top two receivers, Walker and Driver, only managed five catches for 67 yds. If our corners can hold the niners receivers to similar numbers we should have a great chance to win.
