Parcells enters the room and sits down at the Microphone.
Ok guys. No injuries from the game. Well no physical injuries. Thats about the only good thing I can say about this game.
This was a very bad way to start the season. We got wipped out there. To start the game we held them 3 and out. Then we fumble the punt and give them a free touchdown and put the D right back out on the field.
We have a lot to work on. Nobody could handle the football out there. I mean the whole team looked like a bunch of 5 year olds trying to handle a football. Fumbles, I have never seen so many fumbles by one team. And I have never seen a team have so many shots at getting an interception and drop every one.
Then we throw 2 ints. Give up a bunch of sacks and cant run the ball. We missed a bunch of tackles on those long runs we gave up. Those should have been stops in the backfield.
I know it was raining but that was just a pitifull performance. The other team was just as wet and they seemed to hold onto the ball fine. We cant call off the games because its raining. This is football, these guys are professionals and they get paid good money.
I think this week we will all be focusing on holding onto or throwing the ball. And we will do so with wet balls. We will be bringing out the hoses for practice and its going to be a misserable and wet week of practice.

Coach with the way your guys played today what are your expectations for this team now? Do you think they just a bad day or do u feel this is the way your season will go all year?
The simple fact is that he is a over rated piece of **** that can't cover. He makes bad reads on routes and lacks the ability to recover when he is beaten.
For Madden people the best way to explain it is that he has a very low awareness.
Your QB Delhomme and your RB Benson had a hard time to be effective, why was your O-Line unable to block ? Do you plan any position changes yet or will you wait a few more games before making any decisions for the O-Line?

I have nothing but good memories of playing for the Bills. It's something I cherish. When I was playing for the Pats, I'd wear a Bills T-shirt under my uniform. Someone came up to me one day and said, 'Fred, no matter what you wear on the outside, you,ll always be a Buffalo Bill on the inside.'

Well I sure hope this isnt how the season will go all year. I would hope I would be able to help this team improve and fix its problems.

No. I dont have another choice. We traded the most reliable Kick Returner in the league to Los Angeles. Now I am beginning to think I didnt get enough out of that trade.

Look guys, It one game. You cant go pulling all your starters and putting in the backups because they had one bad game. Now if it contunues over a period of time then you start looking at things and maybe you try something different.

Delhomme was not dropping back as much as he should be. Thats something I am going to have to look at. I may have to change up the plays we are calling and put in more shot gun situations.
Benson didnt get going because we were down early in the game. We were playing catch up half way through the first quarter. When you get down that much you become one demensional real quick. You have to put points on the board fast and the only way to do that is passing the ball. I think we only ran about 15 times because we got down so early in the game.
Also I think Carolina was focused on stoping Benson. I think they sold out to shut down our running game. I would guess they didnt think Delhomme could hurt them, that would be obvious since they chose to get rid of him this offseason. So I would think thier game plan was to shut down the run game and make our passing game beat them. We didnt make many plays in the passing game so thier defensive game plan worked out.

No, I dont think so. I think maybe the team over estimated itself. And we went into the game with the wrong gameplan. We had the wrong plays selected for our offense. Bur regardless of everything. It doesnt matter what plays you call or what your gameplan is if your players cant hold onto the ball and turn it over as much as we did.

Of all the mishaps that happened in the game, which area disappoints you most?
I guess I would have to say, what bothers me the most is that we could not handle the football properly. Everyone looked like they were trying to catch and carry a Beach Ball.
Look, Im not trying to be funny here. Go back and look at the film. We couldnt cary the ball without fumbling, We couldnt catch the ball when it hit our hands. Everyone looked like they had never touched a football in thier life.
