Steelers offseason Press Conference #2

GM Lael approaches the podium.

Lael: Well, we did a lot didn't we? The short version of it is this: First the aquirence of the 5th pick in the draft along with Charles Woodson made the defense a lot stronger. Then we went into the Free Agency. I talked to Randle El, and I told him that we were glad that he gave us his all here in Pitt, but we couldn't afford another bidding war like Kendrell Bell. But to seal off the Free Agency, we signed veteran running back, Marshall Faulk. I would like to let you ask questions, if you have any.

Do you feel Faulk has enough gas in the tank to lead your team where it needs to be? Aren't you afraid it'll take away from the progression of younger guys, like McGehee?

Marshall is one of those players, in my opinion that at his age, can still get the job done.

McGahee will still see plenty of playing time, with Faulk and McGahee spliting playing time.

McGahee is 24, and he still has a lot of time to devolp. I think with Faulk showing him how it's done, you can't go wrong.

Any other questions?

Do you plan on splitting the carries 50/50 between the two very good backs you have here in Pittsburgh? Or will one of them receive a little more then the other?

Marshall Faulk is a great back, and McGahee is a young back with a lot of potential. With that being said, you should see them spliting time starting.

any other question?
