*GM Yoda walks in and takes a seat along with Mike Tice*
'First of all' begins Yoda, 'I would like to introduce our new head coach, Mike Tice. We believe that Coach Tice is better rounded for the position of head coach, and not so weighted in one area as our previous coach was, who in our opinion makes a better offensive coordinator than he does a head coach.'
'Next, I would like to discuss our offseason moves and draft picks. We long planned on getting Jamal Lewis, and believed we had a solid plan to get him here. In our haste, we went ahead and traded Cedric Benson away, who we never would have traded had we realized that we weren't going to get Lewis.'
'This began a whole string of trades, because we felt that Steven Jackson's abilities are of better use elsewhere which we will discuss later, in order to get a top noch running back. At first, it was decided to get the 1st pick in the draft to take Reggie Bush. Immediately after we drafted him, we received a message from the Patriots owner on a offer for Mr. Bush. The 6 and 9 picks in the first round, the 20 and 22 picks of the 3rd round, and Corey Dillon for Reggie Bush and the 14th pick of the 2nd round.'
'Reggie is an amazing talent, but, we believe we got much more value out of those picks, that just what he would bring to the table. We drafted DT's Gabe Watson and Orien Harris.'
'To augment our offense, we traded for Santana Moss and drafted Steve Smith from USC. Some people have complained that we paid to much for Santana. Well, it came down to that we know other people were bidding on his services, and we didn't want to loose out like we did on Jamal Lewis.'
'Steve Smith gives us a very fast corp of wide receivers, and fits in nicely with our concept.'
'In closing, this isn't really even all that close to the team we had plan on fielding. We have lost some amazing talent this offseason. Lenoard Little, Adam Archuletta, Robert Thomas, Jermetious Butler, Cedric Benson. And because of our early mistake on counting on getting Lewis, it has shaped our offseason, and we have lost alot. And hopefully, we have been able to recover and make ourselves a better team because of it.'
After you coudnt land Jamal Lewis on RB and with so many cap room like your team had, why didnt your team tried to land an agreement with stud free-agent RBs as Travis Henry or Fred Taylor?
What do you feel about your actual RBs Cory Dillon and Deuce Staley, do you expect them to be able establishing a reliable running game?

I have nothing but good memories of playing for the Bills. It's something I cherish. When I was playing for the Pats, I'd wear a Bills T-shirt under my uniform. Someone came up to me one day and said, 'Fred, no matter what you wear on the outside, you,ll always be a Buffalo Bill on the inside.'
It's our opinion that Corey Dillon is just as good as Fred Taylor and that our free agent money was better spent elsewhere. Last season, Corey was in the top 10 in yards per carry with at least 100 carries last season.

This is something that came about because of our failures in the Lewis situation. But, in the short version, we felt we had to have one of the 2 top corner's in the draft. Law or Rolle. In looking at what we had there, that was a very real lilability and a huge hole in our defense. As the bidding went on in free agency, while it was alot, we felt we didn't have a choice.
We tried to trade for a couple of corners, but we told they were untouchable. And in the end, when someone placed the max contract for Rolle, we felt we had no choice but to do the same on Law.
While it's a bit much, we know, we are very excited to have a player of Ty's calibur on our team.

Secondly, the Rams are still in good shape cap wise. Are you planning on making any more moves this offseason?
I don't see any more. Because of trades, we are not in a very good situation next year due to cap penalities. So, unless it's something that blows our socks off, I don't forsee any more moves.

Do you think your Steve Smith could be as good as or even better then the other Steve Smith?

For Madden people the best way to explain it is that he has a very low awareness.
