Team Owner Disturbed is shown entering the room. He approaches the podium and waits for everyone to take thier seats. Once everyone is ready, he begins.
Disturbed : Ok I want to say first of all I felt like we had a very successful season last year. We won our division and made the playoffs. Now what I want to do is talk to you about where we stand for next season. I will go by position and let you know where we stand. After that I will be available for any questions you might have.
At Quarterback we have Drew Bledsoe returning along with Matt Leinart. Like I said last season, this is Bledsoe's job until he decides he wants to retire. We are extremely pleased with Drew and everything he brings to the table.
At running back we are a bit loaded you could say. We have the best power back in the business with Jamal Lewis. His backup is Julius Jones, a promising young back. These two spear headed our attack last season and unless we make a move to trade one or both of these, this is something we look to continue into next season.
Our fullback is Alan Ricard. Rashon Powers-Neal will be moving back from HB to FB this season and will push Ricard for playing time. We are exploring options to move Ricard and he has been acceptable to this.
Our Wide Receivers is a area of concern for me personally. We love Reggie Wayne and feel he is a good cornerstone receiver. Fred Gibson and Carlos Francis are both younger guys who we feel have a lot of potential but are guys we would like to keep down a bit on the depth chart. We will definately be on the outlook for a starter here. Randy McMichael is one of the better Tight Ends in the league and he figures to continue to be an important part of our offense.
Our offensive line returns intact from last season and NOTHING will change here. This is quite possibly the best unit in the league and we plan to keep them together as long as possible.
Our Defensive line needs some minor work. We have two good ends with Aaron Smith and Anthony Weaver. Ted Johnson will not be returning at tackle which does leave a hole to fill there. Kelly Gregg will be the starter here and hopefully we find his running mate soon.
We have a solid linebacking core. Ray Lewis is one of the, if not the, best middle linebacker in the business. Terrell Suggs is a young up and coming stud who should continue to give people fits for years to come. Right now we are slotted to have Nate Wayne start , but we are looking to upgrade here. Wayne was solid in his role last year and if needed to we feel like he could handle the job for us. Quentin Griffin will be returning to his normal position of running back. We commend him on his willingness to switch to linebacker to help us out in our time of need when Suggs went down.
Defensive backs might be the strength of this defense. Cornerbacks Ty Law and Ken Lucas can cover anyone. Ed Reed is a top flight safety. (note here.. I know right now I have them in different positions, but they will be moving back to thier normal ones). We are looking at movign Will Demps back to safety and Duane Starks will be our 3rd corner.
Our kicking game is solid and won't change more than likely.
I hope I didn't ramble on too much. We are now open to any questions you might have.
how do you believe you will do in a very weak division?

For Madden people the best way to explain it is that he has a very low awareness.
Is there any position(s) that you consider the missing piece(s) to put you over the hump and make the Ravens a Super Bowl team?
I think on offense we could use another receiver to help take some of the pressures off Wayne.
On defense we need a big run stopper up the middle to help free up Ray Lewis and Terrell Suggs to make plays. I would also like to see us do something at the strong safety position.

I don't look at the division as weak. Cincy has a good looking offense on paper. Cleveland might have some holes, but thats what the offseason is for. That leave the Steelers. They were one of the better teams in the second half of the season. They got off to a horrible start last season and I don't see that happening again this year.
I think we can compete with anyone in our division, but a repeat as champion isn't a given by any means.
Is there any one specific reciever you are eyeing? Is it possible that Issac Bruce or other big name FA will end up in Baltimore? Or will you look more to the draft?

Bruce is a player we are definately interested in. With that being said, the salary cap may not allow us to go after him and thats what ended the talks we did have with the 49ers on a possible trade.
I would say the chances are more likely that we will take one in the draft.
How much of an impact will Troy Williamson make this year for the Ravens? And will he start over Reggie Wayne?
Is there any Quarter back controversary in Baltimore?

Do you think Pac Man will help your defense play more man to man, or will he struggle early as a rookie in the NFL? Your front 7 looks great but do you have the DBs to cover downfield while your guys blitz?

Right now we are projecting Williamson as the 3rd receiver behind Wayne and Carlos Francis. Things might change between now and the beginning of the season but for now he is 3rd on the depth chart.
As for your second question. No there is no controversy here with the Quarterbacks. Drew Bledsoe is the starter. Matt Leinart is the backup. Thats not so say that if Drew plays poorly that things might change, because they could. The only way Leinart starts this season is if Bledsoe gets hurt or plays extremely poorly causing us to lose games.

Jones falls into the same situation as Williamson right now. He is 3rd on the depth charts right now behind Ken Lucas and Scott Starks. We will have to wait for training camp and the preseason before we make any determination as to whether he will possibly be given a chance to start or not.
