*Owner/GM Mr. Berwick walks in, sits down, prepars to talk about his expectations for the team this upcoming year.*
Owner/GM Mr. Berwick: Well, where to start..first I would like to start with a thank you, for allowing us to continue our buisness here in the Sim League.
Now, I'm sure most of you have been wondering what types of moves could be made this offseason here in Philly. Well, I'm sure there have been rumors floating around the press, forums on websites, etc. However, truth is our Eagles will not make a big splash this offseason. We aren't trying to trade anyone outside of 1 or 2 players, and won't go after many in the FA market. We will see what is available at the time, and scout the talent, maybe make one or two signings, but I really don't see much happening.
There have been many teams calling my cell phone, inquiring about our first round pick, 6th overall. As far as I am concerned, there is no one position we are after this year in the draft as we seem to be set for the next 2-3 years in every position. We are weighing our options as to whether or not to hold onto it, or to add some depth to our bench for it. A decision has not yet been made on that. Also, 2 or 3 teams have called about our center Hank Fraley. Hank will not be traded this offseason unless a real blockbuster deal comes at us, one that I will not be able to refuse.
Now, I am sure I will get some rumblings from the press as well as fans as to why I am not going to improve this team.. My answer is: This team did a heck of a job last year, why change it? I am positive this team is a Super Bowl contender. We were in the top 5 in the league in both offense and defense last year, and I see no reason to change a team that was able to accomplish that much. I have set aside three main goals that I would love for this team to accomplish this year: 1) Make it to the Super Bowl, 2) Secure Home Field Advantage through out the Playoffs, and 3) Have atleast 5 Players make it to the Pro Bowl.
At this time I would like to ask you, the press, to please ask any questions you would like.
Who do you believe will be your number 1 reciever this year?

For Madden people the best way to explain it is that he has a very low awareness.
You say you are not making many moves this offseason, does that say you are happy with the team and think they can win the SB, or is it saying you are content with not winning it all?

I'm in generally happy with the team, and I definately believe this team has the potential to win the Super Bowl.. Therefor, not to many moves will be made.
what are you going to do to keep this team from underachieving again?
Make sure this team is prepared each week on my part, by A: PUtting a good football team out on the field, and B: Preparing them correctly, making sure they know the game is never over.
You got a high level of yardage production out of your receivers last year. But they had trouble finding the endzone, Fitzgerald in particular, with only 2. How will you try and right this?

You know what, I really prefer to run the ball into the endzone. I feel as if Fred Taylor is a pound it in there type of back, and can get the job done when we are in the red zone. Maybe we'll throw more this year into the endzone.. but last season I just liked giving the ball to Taylor.
Are the Eagles planning on using a 3-4 or a 4-3 type Defense? With the drafting of Anthony Montgomery, it would look to be a 4-3, but I see strong Middle Linebackers, not Outside Linebackers. What are you thoughts?
