Welcome ladies and gentlemen, I'm glad you could come out and join us today. We are very excited about the possibilities of this upcoming season. Our division is tougher than ever. With the 49'ers making the Super Bowl and the Rams going 10-6 every week will be a challenge. I was dissapointed with the end result of our season. 6-10 is not acceptable for a franchise of this calibur. Especially with the quality of players that we have here in Seattle.
Last year I was especially happy with the development with some of our rookies. Bryant Mcfadden had 70 plus tackles form the corner postion. Vince Young, well I can't say enough about Vince. He came in and took the reins as a rookie and there were times that he shredded defenses like a 7 year veteran. Then on the flip side of that there were times where he would throw a few interceptions that would cost us big. But that is just part of the growing pains of starting a rook.
Last season your team was hit by huge salary cap restrictions, but for the actual season you have more money that can be spent on signing players. Is there any tendency right now what the positions will be you are thinking of an upgrading?

I have nothing but good memories of playing for the Bills. It's something I cherish. When I was playing for the Pats, I'd wear a Bills T-shirt under my uniform. Someone came up to me one day and said, 'Fred, no matter what you wear on the outside, you,ll always be a Buffalo Bill on the inside.'
I feel pretty solid at all positions, I do have the decision of who to franchise, my excellent kicker Josh Brown, or my leading tackler Earl Holmes. So really this season is all about getting the depth we need to go far into the season. i have 2 excellent recievers, but lack a solid third, so that is probably where i will concentrate. There and replacing the player i choose not to franchise.
Edgerrin James had a down season in 2005 after an injury plagued season in 2004...do you realistically think he can bounce back to the elite level he was once at?
Of course I think he can come back. He sat out almost all of 2004 with a severe concussion and still had a 1,000 yard season last year. Edge is still young, and now there won't be as much pressure on him with the running ability of Vince Young and back up Greg Jones is a very solid #2. We expect big things from Edge this year.....and he expects them of himself.
Do you think the Niners will be as dominant this year? Do you think you can win your division this year? Are there any certain free agents coming up that you are thinking about, or are you going to try to continue building through free agency?

The Niners will be dominant from here on out. That is just the nature of their owner. But of course I think we can win, we are just as talented as every other team in this division; and we've got some good ones. And to answer your third question, i am looking more to draft a replacement at the start of the second round with my first pick of the draft. FA just gets too expensive.

Is there any danger of a sophmore slump for Vince? If so, are you going to take any precautions..Such as making Edge a work horse?
There is always a danger for any player to slump. Slumping is really any decrease in production this day in age. So the key will be keeping his confidence up...because when you know you can do something, it's a whole lot easier to actually do. As for your second question, i think Edge will be insulted if we don't give him a decent workload. Then again, wouldn't want teams keying on him.

With two players to franchise do you see yourself drafting a replacement or attacking the over via Free agency.
How optomistic are you about Vince's sophmore year playing in the NCF West?>
As I stated earlier I will be looking to draft a replacement, FA's just get over priced due to the demand for high quality players and spend happy owners. I am very optimistic about Vince playing in the NFC West. It's had great parity the past 2 years and we will look for that to continue as we attempt to rise from the ashes of that 6-10 season. Really there are only 2 things that scare me about the NFC West, the fact that i am 1-3 against th 9'ers and the possibility of having to play Reggie Bush twice a year. Cause you never know what draft pick Cash will Snag.
