Just a small comment... Anyone can run there conferences however they want but remember we are running a franchise here.. so you might should consider your self the owner/GM and then remember who your coach is and use his personna if you answer questions as the coach.

Cause coaches will change. (retire/fired/hired.. etc)

Not trying to call you out on this.. just a request from me, and this was a perfect time to request it. Real world comments like this are appreciated. People should help people out on how Madden works.. but when breaking out of the 'persona' of team owner or reporters asking questions I ask that be done in PM's IM's or another part of the forum... everything in this part should be 'make beleive'

Having said that this was good input to you from SlickRick on how Madden 2005 works.. Bledsoe CAN get MAD his MORAL can drop and if that happens it LOWERS the actual ratings of players on your team as long as the player is mad or on your team. It was real insight into how the game works.. of course I will give reports on who is mad on your team etc etc whenever I talk to you (any owner) on IM...

Ok come on guys... Im with Cash on this. These press conferences should be fun and take on a sort of "Roll Playing" atmosphere I think. So far most of the owners have opened thier press conferences at least attempting to "Roll Play" and all sound just like real owers do in preseason.... Optomistic and talking play-offs and superbowl.

But some of the owners, when asking questions in other team's press conferences, are not even attempting to "Roll Play" as the media. Owners dont go to other team's press conferences and ask attacking questions. (They don even go to them). If your going to ask a question, please try to ask as a member of the media and word it like someone in the media would. Think about it.... If someone in the media asked some of these questions that you guys are asking now or made some of the statements you are making now would you get a response, or would you be kicked out of the room?

So far I have read each teams press conference, then I have looked at thier roster on the site, and then try to come up with at least one question based on what was said in the conference, the roster, and offseason moves. Some teams I can come up with a question right away, and others I have to think a while. But I think it makes things more fun to get questions so I will make sure I ask at least one question in everyones press conference. Then I will read the answer and unless another good question pops in my head I will leave it at that.

I try not to attack, if I see something negative that stands out I try to point it out and question it just like the real media does, but I try to word it as a member of the media who WANTS an answer. Ask the question tactfully and "Roll Play". If the media acted like some of these owners are right now they wouldnt get any answers to thier questions and the press conference would be over in a heart beat.

Aren't reports supposed to be mean and attack the team. Isn't that what they do. I mean coaches get asked the most ridiculous and meanest things you have ever heard and i guess that was the route he was going. Thats only an assumption though. I could be wrong.

Rereading some of the conferences makes me want to take some this back. Some of it was kind of messed up in a sense.

Only in Chicago and New York.... Most reporters are not mean and atacking towards teams. What they try to do is ask questions they think fans want questions to, and most reporters try to stay on the 'good side' of whoever they are asking questions of because they know if they anger the person the person will not give them anything useful in future press conferences.

And I want to make it clear that I am not crying about any questions asked in MY teams press conference. This post was promted by some things I read in other teams press conferences. I can handle taking s**t from you guys, its not that at all. If fact I kind of enjoy the tough questions because it gives me the oportunity to try to "Roll Play". All I ask is that everyone else does the same. And go ahead and ask me the same question again, just worded different, after I have given my answer. See how much like Parcells I can be

I know all the press conferences I have seen have been abit ummm ..... their not sugar-coated where I'm from and I felt that was my approach. I like going after the truth but Chaos is correct in a sense. I want everyone who reads this to realize i meant no MALICE by any of my comments. I think that every Gm has made great moves and that we all have a good chance of doing well. I just went after what I thought was the weak spots of a team and I am no exception. I even listed my own.

I apologize if anyone took what I said the wrong way

All I'm saying is these press conferences should be for fun. I enjoy doing mine and enjoy reading others and asking questions.

Please dont use these press conferences to ATTACK the moves other owners have made that you may think were bad. If you want to help someone out and explain why you think they made a bad move then do it over IM or PM and help them out.

But if everyone keeps making attacks on moves that other owners made, people will not find doing press conferences fun anymore and they will stop doing them.... just like in real life.

Let me re-explain since what I said at first was obviously not understood. When you ask a question in a press conference you need to be able to ask it as a reporter, not as a owner of another team who is badgering the team owner giving the press conference.

Whens the last time you heard a reporter ask a team in thepre season if thier team was gonna beat the patriots in the Super Bowl. I could see someone asking Bill Parcells that now.

"Coach, is your team gonna beat the Patriots in the super bowl"?

Bill- "Uh, who are you? Its the pre-season for pete's sake. I'm not giving the state of the union until at least week 10 guys. And you know the Patriots are going to the super bowl? Thanks for letting the rest of us know I guess all those AFC teams know just not to show up on sundays for this year.

I'm not trying to be funny here guys, lets keep the questions pertaining to the time of year we are in, I'm expecting questions more like whos gonna be my starting RB, or how do I feel about The way this player is playing, and is it enough to warrant giving him a starting spot?
