NYG brief press conference before playoff game against Saints. 29th July

Mr.Billster is nearing the conference room, he seems to be very happy. As he enters the room suddenly some of the local journalists applaud politely. Mr.Billster is smiling at them and is greeting everyone: “Good morning, guys. How are you all? Iam fine, iam very, very fine. We made the playoffs. Yeah, we are happy”

Local Journalist: “Mr.Billster, congratulations for the playoff berth. That was a thrilling last game against the Panthers. Some sport experts had not seen the Giants as a playoff calibre team, but you proved in an impressive way that they were wrong. How did your team managed this success and how do you feel right now?

Mr.Billster: “ Yes, we proved everyone that we are a good team which is able to beat any other team. The key to the success was our ability to perform as a team. But we started really bad this season. After five games, we had a record of 1-4. That was really poor. I spoke a lot with my players about the reasons of this early disaster and some of the guys told me, that they felt uncomfortable about the play calls and the offensive and defensive strategy. I had to confess they saw and told the truth. I wanted to much at the beginning and forced my team a playing style, which they weren’t able to play. As the result we had poor performing formations on offense and defense and a lot of loss of self-confidence. The talent was there, but not the right way of utilizing it. After rethinking my strategy think worked really nicely and we started winning easily. We won 9 of the last 11 games, that isn’t bad! We finished 10-6, that is a good thing.
And I want to make following statement. You can have the best team of the world in any sports, not only football, but if you are unable to use your players and their abilities in an effective way, you wont win anything. I tried my best to help this team performing and to play up to their potential, but others have to say and analyze if I was successful or not.
And of course we are thrilled at the moment after knowing that we are in the playoffs. That is where we wanted to be all season long. This is a good feeling. It gives you very much to see that your work was okay. But now the playoffs are starting and they have their own rules and own dramaturgy. Every team in the playoffs is good. Every team is able to win the Superbowl. Every team, we too”.

Sports Illustrated: “ Mr.Billster, your playoff game is against the Saints. What do you think about their team?

Mr.Billster: “Well, we met already in week 15. I don’t like the things I remember about this incredibly game. We played very good all game long and I was sure that we won already, but suddenly bad things happened. Steve McNair got the Ball just 1 second before the end and throw an incredible touchdown. We were all shocked and couldn’t react. In the overtime he continued to throw amazing passes and knocked us out. That loss still hurts. But we learned from that bitterly loss. That wont happen us again, but lets see what happens tomorrow…”

Mr.Billster is looking to his watch and speaks:
“Okay, I think it is time for me to go back to my players. We had to check out some last things for tomorrow. Iam sure we will met us here again after the game. Have a nice time”.

He walks out of the room slowly and enjoys the feeling of being on the sunny side of life these days…

What it means to be a Bill...said by Fred Smerlas...
I have nothing but good memories of playing for the Bills. It's something I cherish. When I was playing for the Pats, I'd wear a Bills T-shirt under my uniform. Someone came up to me one day and said, 'Fred, no matter what you wear on the outside, you,ll always be a Buffalo Bill on the inside.'

Good old times....

Sports Illustrated: "Mr.Billster, you left the Giants two years ago and wanted to establish a dynasty with the Buffalo Bills, but yet your team failed to get one single winning season. Do you regret your move?"

Mr.Billster: "No, i dont regret it. I had a great time at New York as the Giants owner, but the agreement i had was to own and manage the team for one season only. It was just an ownership for a transitional period till the team would get a "real" owner for a longer period of time. But i still i have to say that i have many good memories to my G-Men season. Still i have to point out that the team of my dreams were always the Buffalo Bills and they will the team i would like to own till the end of my days. The ownership of this team is something that makes me very proud".

I think i havent read this interviews for almost a year now...
