RFA and Franchise (2007)
Ok here we go again.. READ WHAT I WRITE it's important.
Franchise Tag- pays the player top 5 average at his position. Another team can make an offer to your player, you must then match it or let him go and you get two firsts. Here is the deal with the firsts given up. ONE of them minimum must be from this year and must be at the pick your team originally had or higher. The other can be from this year or next year in any spot in the first round but must be given WHEN you sign the player.
FRANCHISE TAG COSTS:
QB-$8.65m HB-$6.46m FB-$2.86m WR-$8.09m TE-$3.59m OT-$6.06m OG-$7.64m C-$5.11m DE-$7.47m DT-$6.20m OLB-$7.29m MLB-$6.72m CB-$7.90m FS-$5.74m SS-$3.85m K-$2.31m P-$1.31m
Important Note: If you Franchise a player the max contract (99.96m with a 39.97m bonus for 7 years (job security)) Can be offered by another team, at which point you can match that amount or let him go for the 2 firsts. ON THE OTHER HAND if you let him goto Free Agency you could get that player for a 7 year contract that would cost you around $91m and a $37m bonus because you get a 10% phantom increase. So you must decide what to do there with your guys that are going to be highly sought after!!
ADDED INFO-More on Franchise tagged players. Once all the RFA's and tagged players are set I will then allow people to announce thier intentions to bid on those players. Once bidding starts on a player I will take a initial offer from each bidder. IF 2 or more bidders start out offering the MAX contract, if the contract is not matched the person who gets the player will be the one who give up the BETTER 1st round picks determined by the value chart. If nobody bids max I will keep going back and forth until I get the highest bid. If after initial bids that nobody has bid MAX on someone turns around and bids MAX or only 1 person bids MAX initially that person will have the rights if the offer is not matched by the tagging team.

$450k right to match offer
$630 right to match or pick comparable to where player drafted
