I decided to put this here in hopes of getting some dialog. I've been having some gaming problems on my PC. I was happening with Civilization, and now with Head Coach.
The game play is really jerky. It's that way when Civ starts to really expand, or when I'm in the Gameday mode for Head Coach. In Head Coach, it takes about 3 seconds for 1 second to go by on the clock, and the streaming banner is not at all smooth. It also takes forever for the players to get up to the line.
I've tried updating my drivers, changing game visual settings, changing monitor settings, and turning up the page file.
Can you just make sure that the Fan on your Graphics card is working... First thing I check from now on. Very similar problems that you are having, card was just getting too hot.

Extremists are like slinkys... Ultimately useless in the grand scheme of things... But still brings a smile to the face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
I've got a Plug and Play Monitor with 75 Hz refresh rate.
In the EA EasyInfo, the display device and display driver have an "!" next to it, indicating compatibility unknown. It seems to be having troubles when it deals with multiple actions. Like I said, it's not bad when I'm in the office mode for Head Coach, just in the Game Day. Let me know if there is anything else you need.

Thanks... I'll check that out. Do I just open it up to hear it? (sorry... like I said, still kinda new to this.)
Yeah... Pretty much... If your card doesn't have a fan it's not a gaming computer. Might have to actually look at it, or lightly feel if it's running. There is very little power running the fan, it's not like it'll hurt you in any way. Just make sure you touch something so there is no static electricity in you if you do have to touch it to see if it's working.

Uh.. the computer you have is not meant for playing games...
I know that isn't very helpful but its the truth and to tell you to upgrade that computer would be like someone telling you to put a supercharger on a yugo...

First off, an opinion cannot be wrong....its an OPINION
Ok, good. In my opinion, you're an idiot. Good thing I can't be wrong!

Uhh... Nevermind... Cash is right... Your driver is for a onboard Graphics card. You're running the absolute bare minimum for most games, and not meeting what you need to for the newer ones.

Thanks... I just basically want to get by with something cheap, as I'm not in a financial position to do much. I'm not looking to go crazy with first person shooters or something like that... just basicly like the games I've talked about in here.
Again, thanks for all the help. At least I have an idea of where I need to go with this.
Graphics card counts a large portion of your gaming... Don't get onboard graphics cards.

Do you think it would help at all just to pick up an outboard graphics card? I understand the comparison of supercharging a Yugo, but I'm not looking to get into big time gaming... just running some of the games (Civ, Head Coach) I have.
I seriously doubt your computer has a AGP port. So no... I doubt that would do you any good. ***( Accelerated Graphics Port )***
You could go to walmart and get a Graphics Card that runs on PCI... Cost you about 50 bucks... It will help... How much... I don't know. I wouldn't bother myself.

Like Tigam said... Your computer probably only has PCI slots for upgrading which means you would have to get a PCI card and that's not good.
You could go get a decent PCI card, but if you did that I would also have to recommend that you get more memory 256 is just not enough.
