It's that time again, when I dismiss the old and say aloha to the new. I am hoping some of you are techies out there, I used to be very involved in the topic. I used to read reviews/forums every day about new technology, but I haven't for a bout two years now.
My target price is $400. Obviously that target is somewhat negotiable based on the candy that is offered to me.
I want to stick with AMD. This is what I had in mind so far:

I am a computer Tech for the army, well that's what I am doing now. I haven't actually gone to school for it yet, but I will be going next april-sep. I am not 100% schooled up on everything there is to know, but I can fix some problems. I am what they call a "money maker" in our office. LOL!!
We do baselines, exchange email servers, stupid crap really, but I like it and it pays....well, will pay later, once I retire(9 more years to go! woohoo)
doesn't look bad. I always stayed with the Athlon AMD myself until recently when i converted to pentium. Looks good. I'll let you know if I find any cheaper prices.

I use pricewatch for most of my items, makes finding the cheaper items easier. I'm trying to convince myself to also put money into better fans, and a power supply in case I want to overclock...but I may just put that off until the fall.

Well, the only way I would give you advise on what to buy would be if you said "Should I get this or should I get that?".
I am the type that starts out thinking I am just going to upgrade my CPU and turn out building a whole new gaming rig.
