I'm very pleased to get out of another pre-season game with what looks like no major injuries, especially the first game that we played all of our starters. Yes, pre-season records don't mean anything but I'm excited to come out of a game against the much respected Redskins in which our starters looked very dominate in the first half, granted the Redskins didn't play all of their starters.
The offense played very well, Tom looked sharp out their going 11/15 with 2 touchdowns, but their was the one interception. We will look at what happened on that play in the film room during the week and try to correct the mistake. Maroney ran hard in his first action against another team with an impressive 5.4 average over 16 carries and scored his first touchdown. Corey Dillon continued his awesome pre-season work by also having an above 5 yard average over 14 carries. Our two main receiving targets, Ben Watson and Antonio Bryant, both struck for touchdowns. On the other hand we are not pleased with giving up 6 sacks and that is something we will look at and work on improving in our next game before the regular season starts.
The defense played very well in the first 3 quarters only giving up 7 points right before the half. Some starters who were playing for the first time this pre-season made some big plays.
On Special Teams, Stephen had another perfect game going 3/3 on field goals. Josh had a decent game with a 39.5 yard average on 4 punts including stcking on inside the 20. Willie and Troy played well on returns with no fumbles on punts or kicks. Both players had above 20 yard averages on kick returns so we are happy with that.
Do you think you have an idea of what you need to do to cut down on the sacks?

We believe giving our best best blocking halfback in Kevin Faulk more snaps and keeping the Tight End on the line to block or atleast help chip on the defensive ends would cut down on the sacks.
We haven't made a final decision on this matter but as of right now we plan on sitting certain starters but playing most.

Can you go into detail as in which starters you plan on further playing for the finale?
Your team seemed to shut down washington's run pretty well but game up alot in the air to 2 backup quarterbacks. is your pass defense a concern going into the last game before regular season?

Right now I can't say for sure as to which starters will play but I can say for sure that all line starters on both sides of the ball will sit in addition to Tom Brady, Laurence Maroney, Rodney Harrison, and Asante Samuel.
