Packers Fall to Titans in Final Tune-Up

There were alot of good and bad things that came up in this game as we finished preparations for the regular season.

First off the offense, our quarterbacks continued to play well. They once again played mistake free and each added a touchdown pass in the game. We were somewhat pleased of our quarterbacks' abilities to look away from their favourite receivers and hit guys like Calico, Lee, Franks and the running backs.

The running game on the other hand struggled mightily. Ahman Green was given the chance to start, but only amassed 11 yards on 9 carries. Even Morency, who played the second half had a hard time getting anything going in the half of the game our team tends to thrive in. He did have limited carries and picked up 4.2 yards per carry, but it was not the result we were expecting.

Our defense held firm, though we allowed them to complete more third downs than we would've liked. Our defense has been strong, ranking in the top 10 through the preseason games. We are confident in our defenses performances as we continue to straighten things out and improve upon them.

We saw both positives and negatives from our special teams today. Ryan had amazing day punting, pinning the Titans inside their five not once but twice as well as putting up a great yard average. Rayner on the other hand struggled, missing two more field goals that ultimately might have cost us the game. The most costly was the second from 53 yards out. While not his fault, the miss setup Tennessee with outstanding field position to march down the field, kick a field goal and win the game.

The first couple games were used purely as experimentation and our defense suffered for it. As preseason went on and we got more settled, they really solidified and I feel good about the progress they've made.

We also feel we have found the best returners for the respective jobs, and punter Jon Ryan has been doing a heck of a job, especially as of late.

Our quarterbacks have performed well, with quarterback ratings of 100+ in five halves, and over 80 in all opportunities with the exception of Favre's relief effort vs the Falcons. Speaking of which, his hail mary interception was the only one for our team, compared to five touchdowns.

We still feel good about this season, especially with the rest of our division going 4-8, two of which really don't look very good right now. We will be coming out to set a tone early, with two divisional games in the first three weeks.

do you belive that despite his age that favre will be able to carry your offense this year? might it just be one too far?

We have absolute faith in Favre and his capabilities to win us ballgames.
