Saints Week 17 Conference, and season flashback...
*Jim Haslett enters*
Well, had we been in the playoff race, I couldn't have asked for a better ending. However, when you go 7-9, your usually not in playoff contention. We finished this season, winning three strait games against capable opponents- Minnesota, Green Bay, and Miami. All three were close and it seemed that we were finally able to win the close games that eluded us for most of the year. I also saw a defense emerge, amazing.
Looking at this game, I saw a few good things. First, we won a game where we weren't able to pass the ball. Secondly, for only the 2nd time this year, we had a running back with over 10 carries, get over 4 yards a carry. Third, our running defense, thought to be our weak spot, limited Deuce to 101 yards on 39 carries. Lastly, Grant showed why he is our best defensive player.
Looking at the last 8 games of the season, I saw that we actually, well, have a team. In those eight games we compiled a 4-4 record. Every game wwas close. This team showed why it will win the division next year.
The plusses from this year....
-We got over 4000 pass yards.
- Devery Henderson, he is the league's most underrated player. 111 catches for over 1300 yards. Wow.
- Our 2nd and 3rd recievers combined to total almost 1800 more yards.
-Cie Grant- He did it all.
-Corey Simon, 14 sacks, thats what we ask for.
Looking ahead...
Next year, the team will have 7 FA's. We will also have 4 draft picks which We will use to geta HB, and upgrade the O-line, D-line, and CB.
You mention Grant as your best Defensive player... but what about your best offensive player?

For Madden people the best way to explain it is that he has a very low awareness.
