Rules suggestions

If you have a suggestion for a rule for athe league let me hear it if I like it I will include it in my list of rules.. I will try to get my rules done soon and will allow everyone 48 hours to moan and complain about the rules to me.. if I am actually convinced into changing any of them during the 48 hours I will post up the final set of rules after those 48 hours.. I'm not going to give a solid time on when I will post my rules. I reserve the right to add rules at any time as situations arise that need rules to enforce fairness in the league.

If someone suggests a rule you all can discuss the possible rule but be respectful to each other I don't want people bashing on each other for thier rule suggestions..

As a closing point I want to say this. I am the commissioner of the league everything I do will be in the interest of fairness and fun. Do not disrespect me if you disagree with something I do. I will treat everyone with respect also. But I make the rules and I enforce them. If anyone is going to have a problem with that then you can bow out now.

Remember I was in the Marine Corps in a position of leadership so I am used to making rules and having them be followed, a little moreso than your average civilain. But I also have a lot of time and knowledge that I will put into making this as fun as possible.

So lets hear your suggestions.. It would be really GREAT {hint hint} to get at least one rule suggestion from each member of the league

2 things- why wont there be a resigning period, and why dont prexisting injuries count (i dont have to wrorry about any, lol)

a rule i would suggest is that everybody has to do a press conference after every game, and every offseason period. This will make sure people are staying active and will also make it easier to follow what other teams are doing.

To raise the rivalry and likes and dislikes between the owners everyone should post before the start of each regular season how they see all user teams and make predictions about them. Even the Commissioner/Administrator should do comments about every owner team before every season…

We should play 7 seasons, I like the number 7

Every owner should do a brief press conference every 5 weeks. Even if they don’t know what to write they could evaluate the past 4 or 5 games… As a guy who made 4 or even more press conferences in our last sim league I know that it doesn’t takes much time to do short press conferences.

I don’t know if this is included when we were asked to make suggestions for the rules but I would like to have the run blocking made better to get realistic running yards and so on for all. I think some of you have found out to change the sliders the way that the running is a good option next to passing. But if in Madden 2005 the running is realistic without the need to changes of the sliders forget this…

Wouldnt it really funny if you were predicted to lose 15 games by most users with your team at the start of the season but you make the playoffs ??!!

Here's a BIG one... limited number of trades. I HATE these outlandish, ridiculous trades that everyone seems to have a hard-on for. A trade here and there to tweak your team is one thing, but c'mon...

Just my 2 pennies.

And Phatboy... dude. I know you have been talked to about the attitude. Calling an idea dumb just because you don't like it? A little maturity goes a long way my friend...

Limiting trades is a thing about which i thought too. Even the number of the free agent signings could be limited to prevent bidding wars. Every owner could for example do 3 trades and only offer contracts or sign 3 more FAs per season...
Attention, limiting contract offers or limiting the acquisition on the FA market are not the same thing and should affect in different ways the strategy of the owners...

When you have only 5 contracts you can offer FAs none of them can accept your contract or all of them...
But when you have only 5 acquisitions in the FA market you can counter the offers from the other owners but can only sign a limited number of new players via FA.

the best way i think to do the limited offers to free agents thing is you could only have one offer per day, and maybe a limited number of days you could make 2 offers. This would be comprable to when an nfl team courts a free agent and they spend all day with them at the team headquarters, take them out to dinner, negotiate, etc,

I want to hear peoples opinions on press conferences..

Phatboy I got yours.. Yours is that you wont do them, fine.

Everyone else I would like some input on mandatory press conferences, what would be fair and not to much of a burden? say maybe 1 every 4 games (4 a year) And one after the season and after the off-season? Something along those lines.... just talking here.. would like input on this..

is there anywhere I can find the rules and exactly how things are gonna work, or is that not in writing yet....like here are some examples.....

1.How are you gonna sim the games? let them play out or just do the game sim that takes about 4 seconds? and if you let them play out, how many minute quarters.

2.How do we find out updated rosters? Like say a team trades away a bunch of players and one day I say I wanna trade for someone, but they are on a different team and I can't find them. List of Free Agents too.

Maybe I am looking too far into this....I've been thinking of trading, but I know if you play the game out(CPU vs CPU) that things are different then if you sim them on the game day screen(uncheck the box and sim the game). That will also help me decide on trades or even if I need to trade..that's all for right now.

I like Harty's limited trade idea. I think each owner should at least give his team a chance and see how the players PERFORM rather than trade based on numerical ratings.

The press conference idea is fine with me, as long as its not too strict. I mean, if some teams don't post one every 4 weeks or whatever they shouldn't be penalized or anything.

I'll think it over and see if I can come up with anything that comes to mind...
