A-Rod by a great margin. Alex is setting records for fastest to 300 home runs ect. He could be the best SS ever. His power is unquestionably the greatest from that position and he has won 2 strait GG. He had/has some speed and grab some bases. His OB is huge. Overall He is WAY better then Derek Jeter but Derek is the hometown boy so he gets to stay at SS

Just kidding man, but yeally A Rod is much better. He's the Gold Glove shortstop and the MVP. He hit so many home runs last year and was an RBI machine. He's just such a skilled all around ballplayer.

1.) A runner on base
2.) It depends on the speed of the runner
RBI's are more luck than anything
BS. If a good player bats and there are people on base and he hits a high percentage than he'll definitely get more RBI's than someone who bats poorly with people on base.

Maybe, but the point of the stat is to show how the runner does with base-runners on, kinda, and how many runs he has contributed to his team.

To find out how he contributed to the team you need to strip other players out of the problem.

I agree with the team philosophy, and it takes more than just one player to win.....but..... the question was based around individual performance...Jeter has played a significant role in the Yankees success... and thats where the rings come into play
OK well Emmitt Played a significant role in Dallas' Success and Barry never won a championship so anyone that agrees with you agrees that Emmitt Is better than Barry 3 times over (he won 3 championships)

MVP is based on individual performance, World Series Championships are based on teams... so doesn't it make more sense to look at the MVP's to see who's a better player?

Well I could end this discussion right now, because Barry Bonds is better than both of them.... he has won MVP 6 times....but and I am just curious here, but sense someone keeps bringing up Emmit Smith all the time I have to ask this.... Say Barry played in dallas in those years... and emmit played in Detroit, and dallas never won a championship, but Detriot won three, and for some odd reason Barry Sanders ended up with the career rushing title, would you still feel as strongly about Emmit??? And I want you to really think before you answer....
I don't think championships mean anything for a player on a personal level.. I was just saying that to counter your arguement about championships.. If you are going to use it which I think is one of the dumbest arguements in the world when talking of individual skill, and achievement, then I will use it against you. Point is if you are going to use it then don't be a hypocrite with it.. stick to it.. if championships matter then Emmitt is better than Barry Sanders with no questions asked and you should feel the same way.. otherwise don't use the championships arguement when it only benefits you...
