Hurricane
Im not sure if any of you know this, but my wife is down in Biloxi training with the military, and stuck right in the middle of Katrina. She is doing all right but they still have 120 mile an hour winds at this time. So Ive been a bit distracted lately and thought Id let everyone know what was going on.
I will be going down there next week if the airport is opened up, and hopefully I can help get everything in check if at all possible. I think our car is flooded, and the windows have burst in vehicles my wife could see, so ours probably is too. Oh well maybe FEMA will buy her a new car hehe.
I just hope that everyone else who may of had family or friends down there has good news too. That is one nasty storm, and I hope everyone comes out of there safely.
Some places will be without power for a month, like New Orleans. SO where will the Saint play without power and with a tore up roof?

Frankly, the Stains should go ahead and leave Louisiana... I dislike them so.

Familiar landmarks destroyed
These reports were sent by City Editor Kate Magandy:
At DeBuys Road at U.S. 90., the Olive Garden and Red Lobster restaurants were obliterated. (In 1996 I lived in the apartments right behind these restaurants)
In Biloxi at Edgewater Village, most of that shopping strip mall was devastated. The McDonald's is gone, the Village Sports Pub is gone.
The Hard Rock Casino on Casino Row in Biloxi, which was scheduled to open next week, will have to be rebuilt. The superstructure was severely damaged.
There have been reports that there are several casino barges that were pulled out of water and onto land.
Elvis Gates, a State Farm insurance agent in Long Beach, went to downtown to survey damage. He found nothing left. ``Everything south of Second Street is gone. The harbor is gone.''
St. Thomas the Apostlic Catholic Church, which sits on U.S. 90, celebrated its 100th anniversary in August. It is now gone.
When Camille hit in 1969, Long Beach residents were able to hold Mass in St. Thomas School gym. There is nothing left of that but the superstructure.
First Baptist Chruch in Long Beach has been leveled. Other reports indicate that everything south of the tracks received catastrophic damage. Part of U.S. 90 collapsed in front of Edgewater Village.
