Favorite Game of All Time?
I thought maybe this would be a good thread. Just make sure it's not Madden (or any sports game considering this is in the NON SPORTS GAMES part of the board), that'd kind of defeat the purpose, lol.
Personally, my hands down, all-time favorite game is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I mean, this was an amazing RPG. It had in my opinion, the best story ever told in a game. Add in the fact that you can decide your path, Light or Dark Side (or even somewhere inbetween) and thousands of conversation options and you had an amazing game. Plus, I loved the combat too.

i basically only play sports games... so i really would say either madden or probably ncaa... but to fit the topic... ummm, i guess the GTA series

NFL 2K5 (if that was the last one, which I think it was). I played that for like another year before I finally gave in and baught Madden 07.

Call me old school but I like RISK on the PC and PS2 and Poker if you consider that a non-sport game. Oh yeah and of course the original Mario Bros. on the regular Nintendo.

Mario Kart...On all its platforms. What a game that was.
The Mario games in general were/are awesome.
Tho you and I were talking the other night Forenci and that reminded me how good Shenmue was on the dreamcast..I also liked Soul Caliber on it too, that was an awesome fighting game.
Hell, used to play a lot of Tetris...
But all time favourite for me, does have to be Mario Kart.

Shenmue was AWSOME. I completely forgot about that game. I beat it on hard on Dreamcast. Dreamcast was awsome till it burnt out, lol.

Yeah we were saying how no matter what it was you were doing, they seemed to make it cool. Even that repetitive fork lift job..Cos you knew when you got off shift, something good would happen.
They should remake it for the next gen, I think anyway, and it would be amazing...It was pretty groundbreaking in every aspect I felt when it was on the Dreamcast...They could probably push the NG consoles into making it an awesome looking game, ahead of its time graphics wise, again.

Hah, I was just talking to TR about it yesterday. I loved that game. I think one of the most underated aspects of that game was the enviroment. When you were running through the streets you just felt completely amazed at how real it felt. I think it's one of the few games to make you actually feel like 'this could be a real city'. It was just alive and moving with storefronts and the arcade you could play games at.
Simply amazing. I've heard rumors of a Shenmue 3 for the 360, not sure if they are true or not.
