Has anybody else played this game? I was at a Cinco de Mayo party at my friends house and he dragged out Guitar Hero II for Playstation 2. We all played for a little bit, I'd never played before in my life. First song ever played, Nirvana - Heart Shaped Box. I completed the song with like 90% sucess.
So, hooked I was. I went out the next day and baught it for XBox 360, dishing out $95 for the game and one guitar even though my rent is a week late now lmao.
So, breakdown:
Gameplay: 10/10 - Keeps you playing for hours. My eyes were watering from being concentrated on the TV for so long. With 4 diffrent difficulties, you can play the game for a while without getting bored.
Graphics: 5/10 - Its a guitar game, so, the character graphics don't really matter.
Song: 9/10 - A few of the songs are really boring to play but most of them are really fun classics and current songs that are great to rock out to.
Likeability: 10/10 - I really think a lot of people would enjoy this game. Even if you can't play guitar, which I can't, its a blast. It works the hand/eye cordination bigtime as well as rythm so its brain food at the same time
Overall: 10/10 - I'd recommend it to anybody honestly.
You know, I was almost tempted to do the same, honestly. I was very close to shelling out the money for it too, but decided at the last second not to.
If you like this game, you should really look into buying the game, 'Rock Band' when it is released sometime at the end of the year I believe. Suppose to have much of the same feautures of Guitar Hero, but it comes with not only the guitar but also drums and vocal periphials to use. Supposedly you'll be able to use Xbox Live too and start bands and so on and so fourth.
Don't know about you, but that sounds pretty freakin' sweet.
What!? Thats awsome. I was talking about this the other day saying "they should have drummer and singer as well". I'd never heard about this game. Thats awsome man, thanks for the heads up.
What is so compelling about this game...Ive seen people play it and it doesnt look all that special. So is it something about when you start playing or something?
Yeah, I had no interest in it till I played it. I'm actually playing right now lol. I was playing since I got home at 5:30 lol. I cant type though cause the finger cordination is diffrent, I keep hitting random keys and having to backspace, lmao.
Thank you, someone else agrees. You have to really enjoy music to play the game and you have to like a challenge because it is NOT easy at all. On easy till I got use to it, I was having a little problem though I haven't failed even once yet.
I moved onto medium yesterday after playing for a day and I'm getting it down. If you check on the XBox Live Leaderboards I have most of them #1
Medium is a challenge but I've never got under 4 stars yet. I love the game.
ive played real guitar for almost 6 years now... i finally tried this game last week... i dont care for it, but i think i have a prejudice because of my guitar playing... it was my brother n laws game... it was fun to me to watch others play... especially my lady, she mangled "crazy on you"... pretty funny
hahaha, my wife couldn't even hit a single key on easy "Heart Shaped Box". She killed my song.
Up to date, I made it through Medium and I completed the first 3 sections on hard. Game is hard though, I can't beat "Sweet Child o' Mine" on hard. The intro is insane.
It was in the store so I didnt get into it that much. What made it fun was I was playing it with the kids.
The songs are very good on there. Ive heard people that do play guitar though dont like it as much and I can see why but I can also see why people really like it as well
