Who got Better Deal
Who do you think got the better deal in the Clinton Portis to Redskins for Champ Bailey and a 2nd round draft pick trade? Broncos or Redskins? I think Denver got the better deal because they have a good backup running back in Quentin Griffin and they seriously need a shutdown corner and they get the best one in the NFL: Champ Bailey. Also, Denver gets a 2nd round draft pick which they can use to get a good RB like Julius Jones. I know Clinton Portis is good, but he's not good enough to turn the Redskins franchise around. He gets injured a lot. You'll see: By midseason he will be complaining about the number of carries his is getting because the Redskins will pass more with Mark Brunell, Rod Gardner, and Laverneaus Coles leading the way.

I honestly think it is pretty close because the Broncos do have a good backup running back and do need a good CB and the Redskins got a few good CB and needed a good running back

I think the Broncos definitely got the better end. They just got a great cover corner and Clinton Portis was just another product of the system, just another link in the long line of great Denver running backs. Quentin Griffin proved himself in the games that Portis was hurt, and he'll be good for Denver.
Also, the Redskins will do very well this year. Steve Spurrier's stupid scheme never worked, and now he's gone. The Redskins have so much talent, and you're so wrong about Clinton not getting enough carries. He's such an explosive back, they HAVE to give him the ball.

haha....I hope you dont plan to ride Griffin cuz you wont get anywhere. 5'7" and 170 pounds? Boy he should be able to handle almost 100 carries a year. One game against the Colts, indoors, on turf and he's good. Denver will get knocked off there RB high horse this year and see what they lost.
I wish the Cowboys would of pulled a Ditka for Portis. 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th and a 1st next year for Portis, I 'd be happy, hell i'd even tingle inside :bigdrool:

That would be hard since they don't have a 6th this year...
It would've been stupid for a product of the system too

in the initial deal, i'd say it was pretty much even because both teams got what they needed most - gibbs needed a stud running back and denver needed a shut down corner. but then washington nabbed shawn springs, who may not be as good as bailey, but is still a shut down corner. they pretty much got portis for nothing, which isn't a bad deal. why didn't the broncos go for springs instead of sending portis packing?

I always thought the broncos did and even though Portis hasn't been magnificent, Griffin hasn't been able to produce behind that Denver O-Line but the main point is Champ Bailey has played well and thats what they needed a true corner

Denver has definitely got the better deal now...they're only giving up about 140 passing yards a game...that's way better than last year...and now with Reuben Droughns Denver has a decent running game...plus look at the records of the two teams-Denver is 4-1 and Washington is 1-3.

Yeah... but Denver hasn't gotten some pretty ****ty calls going their way. Like that Matt Willig call... I mean, from my perspective that's just not right. The referee shouldn't influence the game like they have this season.

U can't put all denvers success all on Bailey. What about Lynch. He's a big part of Denvers success also. As far as Washington goes, a few good coaching decisions and they could easily be 3-1.
