Best Quarterback ever?

I am going with John Elway. (keep in mind that this is not just because I am a Denver fan) John is a leader on the field. But lets look at the past. He had no supporting cast backing him up on the field until his later years, yet he found a way to keep winning. Sports Illustrated qoutes that, "If you put Joe Montana in Denver and John Elway in San Fransico, not much changes in San Fransico, but by the age of 28, Montana is either dead or selling life insurance." He posts more 4th quarter comebacks than any other QB. Meaning he gets it done when he needs to, in clutch situations. I am going to list my top 5...

John Elway
Brett Farve
Joe Montana
Johnny Unitas
Dan Marino

Montana's Offensive line and Jerry Rice made him who he was.

rofl, when he played with the Cheifs he lead there bad team to the Championship Division game. After 2 seasons with them, with no rice and a crap OL. Joe Montana was greater then another other player to play the game.

Peyton Manning....

This is unfair because his career is not done yet... Come back to this post when it is, and we shall compare his stats to others...

And don't give me any winning championships things either, cause if you do then I'll be a homer and say Troy Aikman...

I am not saying he was a bad quarterback at all, in fact I think he is the third best in the history of the game. I sure hope he could at least take an already decent KC team and compete with them. Look at Jake Plummer. I dont think he is top 20 quarterbacks in history. But Denver looks way better this season than last season (when is is not injured). Now, Elway's early years when he took Denver to his first 3 superbowls, NONE of those teams were as talented as the chiefs were when Montana went to Kansas City, yet elway single handily to them to the ship.

Gannon? Oh my God!

He was third string in KC for years and he hasn't put up good enough numbers. He is on the sidelines this year and he's just not that good. How many Super Bowl rings does he have?
