Qwest field??? I was so happy when it looked like they were going to keep it named Seahawks Stadium for awhile, w/Paul Allen owning the team though I guess it could be a lot worse, Captin Kirk Stadium, or possibly Spock field. :coolmadal

It is next to impossible for companies to buy out the old school stadiums, i.e. Arrowhead, Lambeu... those have been around before name brand stadiums came into complete existence. Some new teams get lucky and get great names, like my Texans. Reliant Stadium is an awesome name, especially if you know all about reliance and all that :-)

You cant buy Lambeau Field because Green Bay is all about tradition and history. But a quick reference to packers.com reveals that every single god damn entry/exit point is named after some corporate body. Thats a heck of a lot more irritating, since its not as instinctive as North/South/East/West.
Corporate sponsorship could be cool.. Lincoln Financial Field should've just been Lincoln Field, the company could still get its name plastered all over the stadium in advertising/billboards and the only difference for the team would be a somewhat smaller payment, offset by its fans not thinking of it as a cold-blooded machine. Bank of America Stadium is clumsy, Stadium of America, thats cool. I agree that Reliant Stadium is just plain cool.
And Lint, I wouldnt worry so much about the stadium's name.. first something needs to be done about your team's uniforms
yeah it could be worse ur stadium could be called invesco at mile high... DAMN PAT BOWLEN... lol anyways qwest stadium isnt a bad name...
Yeah, talk about stupid names... Invesco at mile high... it was fine when it used to be called just "mile high stadium", but now Invesco at mile high? Pat Bowlen = idiot
Well yea, they're not the Browns-who-wear-Orange or teh Vikings with that god damn purple fetish, but still. I never liked black shoes on football players either. But lets all be thankful that corporate sponsorship has not yet made its way on to the uniforms. In Europe, soccer teams have hugeass sponsor logos right on their chest. And then there's the constant changing of uniforms EVERY YEAR. So the NFL really doesnt have it that bad with corporate sponsorship, sure it names your stadiums, but the stadium is what you make it, and nobody stops you calling it.. say.. Seahawksfromspace Field
Worst of all is the fact Nike are now not bothering to produce different models for different teams. The equivalent in the NFL would be the Packers and Fins and Patriots and Eagles and everybody wearing identical uniforms.. with only the colours being different.
yep thats true vlad, the reebok sign is plenty in the nfl...qwest field aint that bad though, now Invesco at mile high plain sucks

Its all about the Money. The owners get a sweet stadium that will hold 500k people and pay nothing for it practically. The corp sponsors get free advertisement every time the stadium is mentioned and will now be assosiatedwith the team that stadium houses. The rich getting richer....
