Teammates Would Welcome McKenzie's Return
It wasn't going to be easy. Not for the guy who has played 210 consecutive games. But Brett Favre did his best anyway.

Standing in the Lambeau Field media auditorium this week, Favre, the man who has always been there for the Green Bay Packers, tried to put himself in the shoes of cornerback Mike McKenzie, the man who has failed to show up for any of the team's offseason workouts this spring.

"Just guessing what Mike McKenzie's going through, he probably feels like even if he wants to come back the hole is getting deeper and deeper," Favre said, in reference to McKenzie's absence and recent trade demands.

well i said that mckenzie should just go to the camp and NM about the other bit i was being stupid.

If McKenzie goes to the camp then his trade demands become kind of... stupid...

yeah, hopefully he will get traded to the rams lol, but the rams just a few weeks ago signed 20 rookie defensive players

wow!20! but mckenzie is a great player...why does he want a trade? he didnt have that great a season last year though.

The St. Louis Rams agreed to terms with 21 rookie free agents, the team announced today: CBs Dwight Anderson, Michael Jolivette and Corey Yates; DTs Brian Howard and Jeff Ruffin; Ss Kailan Williams and Shedrick Copeland; RBs Adam Matthews and Dusty McGrorty; OLs Joel Hofmann, Matt Morgan, Jeremy Phillips and Brandon Stephens; P Jimmy Miner; TEs Mike Brake and John Frieser; and WRs Jamal Jones, Kelvin Kight, Derek McCoy, Ryan McGuffey and Nick Narcisse.

Anderson, 5-10, 172, South Dakota; made 30 tackles and three interceptions in his senior season.

Jolivette, 5-10, 180; started 35 of 36 games during his career, registering 163 tackles (130 solos) with two sacks, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles, two blocked kicks, 44 passes defensed and twelve interceptions; made 60 tackles, two interceptions and six passes defensed as a senior.

Yates, 5-10, 177, Southern Mississippi; started 13 of 35 games for the Golden Eagles, recording 53 tackles (41 solo) with two interceptions for 27 yards and nine passes defensed.

Howard, 6-3, 278, Idaho; moved into the starting lineup as a sophomore as a strong-side tackle, recording 183 tackles (87 solo) with 10 sacks and 29 tackles for loss in his career; also made two fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles, 14 quarterback pressures and nine pass deflections at Idaho.

Ruffin, 6-3, 295, Illinois; made 22 tackles (13 solo), two tackles for loss, two sacks, and one forced fumble in nine games as a senior.

Williams, 6-1, 194, Southwest Missouri State; named most valuable defensive player as a senior, as he played in nine games with 48 tackles, two interceptions, and one forced fumble last season.

Matthews, 5-10, 205, Northern Colorado; broke 13 records has a senior and finished as the Bears’ top all-time rusher (3,325 yards) and top all-purpose yards leader (4,104); notched 19 career 100-yard rushing games.

McGrorty, 5-10, 218, Southern Oregon; rushed 983 times for 5,414 yards for Raiders, leading Northwest small-college players in rushing yardage four straight years and the only Southern Oregon player in team history to be invited to the Blue-Gray game.

Hofmann, 6-6, 300, Ball State; started all 12 games as a senior, helping anchor an offensive line that enabled Ball State to pass for a school-record 2,730 yards and 22 touchdown passes.

Morgan, 6-6, 304, Pittsburgh; played in every game of his career at right tackle, starting his last 35 contests.

Phillips, 6-6, 300, Lenoir Rhyne; played in 10 games at left tackle as a senior in 2002.

Stephens, 6-6, 282, Brigham Young; redshirted as a freshman tight end, but moved to defensive tackle and offensive tackle in 2002.

Miner, 6-1, 206, Wofford; made 200 punts for a 40.4 avg. during his career, 60 punts for a (39.1 avg) as a senior.

Copeland, 6-1, 216, Florida A&M; started every game the last three years, recording 232 tackles (140 solo) with four sacks, seven fumble recoveries, seven forced fumbles, four interceptions, 18 pass deflections and two blocked kicks in his final 35 games.

Brake, 6-3, 256, Akron; caught 28 passes for 459 yards and five touchdowns as a senior.

Frieser, 6-4, 260, Colgate; caught 30 passes for 401 yards and four touchdowns in the 2003 season.

Jones, 5-11, 212, North Carolina A&T; caught 25 passes for 284 yards and two touchdowns last season; also rushed twice for 10 yards and one touchdown.

Kight, 5-11, 213, Florida; started 20 of 46 games for the Gators with 90 receptions for 1,282 yards and six touchdowns, adding 320 yards on 15 kickoff returns (21.3 avg).

McCoy, 6-3, 210, Colorado; started his final 37 games for the Buffs, finishing fifth on the school’s career-record lists with 134 receptions for 2038 yards; his 20 touchdown catches tied the Colorado all-time record; caught 63 passes for 883 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior.

McGuffey, 6-2, 210, Wyoming; caught 68 career passes for 815 yards and five touchdowns at Wyoming.

Narcisse, 5-10, 178, Tulane; caught 15 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns as a senior.
