IRVING, Texas - As it turns out, running back Troy Hambrick will not get a chance to compete for a starting or backup job in training camp, the Cowboys set to officially release the fifth-year veteran later this afternoon. Hambrick rushed for 972 yards in 2003, his only year to start for the Cowboys, but was deemed expendable after the club used a second-round pick in last month's draft to select Notre Dame running back Julius Jones.

We've been saying it all along. We all knew it was gonna happen, but I'm sure Hambrick would've felt better (and so would cashpath) if it had been Steven Jackson, not Julius Jones, taking that spot.

I think some could have seen this coming. One play stands out in mind, the play were Hambrick ran out of bounds instead of fighting for few more yards, (not very Emmit-like huh cashpath)

I can't believe my Raiders picked up Hambrick!!!!! I'll be hella mad if he makes the roster or even worse gets the starting job. I always believed Al had made the right decisions but this off season he's gone to far!!! Over paid for Sapp and Washington, signed "Cant make plays anymore" Ray, Didn't give CWood his contract, didnt cut Gannon and his 7 Mil salary, let Barton go to the Jets, didn't draft Fitz to replace Rice and Brown. He needs to get shot in the spot or hang it up. And the Experts say that the Raiders would of had the perfect offseason if they would of aquired Dillon. They're smokin crack. They should of just start rebuilding like the Whiners did.

Gannon still could be gone June 1... They may bring in Kerry Collins... But Someone had to give hambrick a job doesn't surprise me that its the raiders.. you may be pleasantly surprised.. If they use him right and he gets 5-6 carries a game he can be productive.. if the make him the starter though.. thats plain dumb

concerning the whole Julius Jones over Steven Jackson thing..... If Parcells says Julius is his RB of the future.... then i will put my life savings on the fact that Julius does good and plays upto if not exceeding the level of Steven Jackson...
