Yea, I voted for the Raiders. Unlikely, but not unpossible (sic).

I saw a recent training camp photo of Napo Harris and the dude looks ripped and ready. When he returns from injury, he'll be a force. Our corners are excellent, and the young WRs showed promise yesterday. Course KC are favourites, Broncos second, but you gotta believe man!

Well I went Denver.. basically because after the champ bailey trade and John Lynch pickup I stated on the board I fealt they would go deep in the playoffs as long as plummer can stay healthy. This should be a good team this year and I can't pull a Mariotti..

Oh man... I was hoping I wouldn't see that. (Don't take offense to this I'm just explaining why I won't vote Denver.) Yeah, Champ Bailey is good and all, but who's he gonna defend in the AFC West? Johnnie Morton? Yeah... I just don't think his skills will be put to use with the bad WR's in that division. And how can you honestly think that trading Clinton Portis was a good idea? The O Line is terrible too... I just don't think they'll win it.

I think we all know who I'm going to go with, and I think the Chiefs will win it for a few reasons. First, they still have the best O-Line in the league. They also didn't lose anyone except Tait on offense, and they had the best offense in the league. Priest Holmes also is ambitious of a 2,000 yard season this year, and I'm not saying he's gonna get it but if you set a goal like that you better be willing to play hard, and Priest will do that. The defense isn't so great, but I think the addition of Gunther Cunningham will make a difference. Maybe not a huge one, but a big enough one for the Chiefs to still win the division.

Kansas City still has the best offense in the league, good enough to win the division. If the defense isn't good enough for them to win at least one playoff game, they will need to do some major defensive retooling next offseason.

Kansas City is my choice. They led the league in scoring offense the past two seasons and with only one minor change on offense they are poised to repeat the feat. As for the defense, the only problems they will face are learning the new system. Players such as LB Scott Fugita even admitted that he is having a hard time learning Gunther's way of things. Greg Robinson didn't utilize the linebackers as well as Cunningham will. Players that played under the new DC and former head coach are already making an early impact. Jerome Woods has especially picked it up a notch. As long as the KC offense plays ball control then I think the limited play time for the defense should help them adjust. They are definately the team to beat in the AFC West and as far as I'm concerned one of the Top Three in the AFC. Go Chiefs!

Raiders of course. jerry porter should have a break out year, especially if collins is throwing the ball, and if collins is throwing the ball then that'll be good news for teyo johnson, as he should see a lot more receptions.

bailey up against morant? he can do that all day as far as i'm concerned. it leaves their 2nd cb against porter, and we got johnson at TE, and denver LB corps aren't exactly gonna scare anyone. denver's hopes lie less on plummer, more on whoever starts at RB. with denvers weak o-line, if they can't get a ground game going then denver will be grounded by most teams.

kansas are a bigger threat than denver, but at the same time, their season hinges on the (lethal) priest/gonzo tandem staying healthy, coz if either gets injured long term, then kansas, especially with their weak D, will be posting a losing season. but even with priest and gonzo being productive, theres no way kansas will go 13-3 or better that. possibly 11-5 at best.

san diego, maybe if they copied kansas and got in a good TE, could improve significantly.

I just thought that you might like to be reminded that Gonzo missed a few games last year and the Chiefs still won them.... and that Tony and Priest have both been quoted on the record as saying they were never 100% last year and that they played with injuries. If Priest scored an NFL record 27 TD's playing at less than 100% what's going to happen this year?

The Broncos went 9-2 with Plummer as their starter last year so if he was healthy for the entire season the Broncos could be 12-4 or 13-3. Also to IS: Their O-line is one of the best in the league. You have to be kidding when you say they're terrible.

Had to go with Denver. I don't care how weak the WR corps is in the AFC West. Whoever Champ sticks won't see the ball.

Second KC has a harder schedule than Denver

Third Denver's O-Line will make Quentin Griffith or Griffen a 1300+ yard back easily in my opinion.

Finally Kc's D is just that bad and with the new rules regarding CB's I expect them to get burnt even more.

The Chiefs will win the division. There Offense remains intact, an offense that has been the best for the past couple of years. Their defense isn't the greatestm but with Gunther Cunningham back, there will be vast improvements.

Broncos. I just don't have much confidence in teams that need to outscore others to win even though the rams did it before I think times are changing.

but the Raiders d-line is the best in the west. by a long way. we'll put out 2 of san diego's QB's this year, and carolina will finish off the other one.

we dont need to go all guns blazing on offense, our defense will cut down on the number of points we give up.

gonzo missed a few games last year and the chiefs won?! it would be interesting to see who the chiefs played when he was injured. also u'd fare slightly better if gonzo was out long term than if priest was out long term. finally daunte hall had as much to do with the chiefs success last year as had the rest of the offense, wasn't it 4 or 5 kickoffs for TD's. most teams (except san diego) will take hall into account when coming up with their special team strategy.

i wonder how many of those kickoff for TD's actually made the difference in games?
