1 USC
easy schedule, good quarterback, monster speed on defense, nuff said.
2 Michigan
Two Heisman Candidates on the same side of the ball, easy schedule.
3 West Virginia
Pat White, Slaton
4 Texas
Everyone they play is terrible with their conference, Jamaal Charles, Colt McCoy Limus Sweed. Defensive linemen the size of small country's.
5 Florida
6 Louisville
7 Arkansas
8 Cal
Longshore will surprise people, and probably end up being a 2nd round draft pick
9 Tennessee
Erik Ainge Is a Marauder
and my shocker
10 Alabama or Georgia
Alabama under saban is going to be tough
georgia not so shocking

i like it all together...but maye LSU somehwere in there...and i would florida higher and i have west virginia as my number 2
1. USC - They recruit so well every year, the loss of two high caliber receivers is nothing to them. Defense is still stacked, offensive line is amazing, and the new freshman running back Joe McKnight is amazing. Might start as a true Freshman.
2. Michigan - Like you said, two, maybe even three Heisman potential candiates (Henne, Manningham, Hart) on offense. Jake Long, best offensive linemen this year. Defense took some hits, but they recruit well and have English as their Defensive coordinater who is superb.
3. LSU - They still have an amazing defense, even with the loss of Landry. Front seven might be the best in college this year. Loss of JaMarcus, and two first round receivers hurts - but they've got two or three good QB's and tons of receivers this year. Run game should improve too.
4. Florida - Lost some critical players on defense, but with the amazing recruitment class this year and past years, they'll be fine. Not to mention Tim Tebow is a beast and should be great this year for their style of offense.
5. West Virgina - I have them lower because their defense is extremely suspect. They've got an amazing offense, but if they go up against a good defense and good offensive team, they'll probably lose. Two really good heisman canidates in Slaton/White though. If White can stay healthy.
6. Louisville - Potential top QB prospect in Brohm. Their run game should be solid, even with the loss of Bush/Smith. I think I like their defense this year better, even with the loss of Okoye and Nate Harris. Look for their receiver Patrick Carter to have a good year.
7. Arkansas - What can you say about them? Will have great defense even with the loss of Houston and Anderson. That and the thought they have not one, but TWO potential first round running backs. McFadden is a beast.
8. Cal - Their defense will be fine, the loss of Daymien Hughes isn't huge with their Cover 2 defense. Nate Longshore is a beast, might be a first round QB if he comes out.
9. Texas - Colt McCoy looks to be better this year, and their offense is more dynamic this year, but they took so many losses on defense this year. Both their starting defensive ends and Cornerbacks (and safety) are gone. I don't think they can plug that many holes.
10. Tennessee - Took some hits on Defense with the loss of Harell, but they should rebound, considering they played most of the year with out him. Ainge looks to be good, and I think Meachem is replacable.
Sleeper Pick: Boston College - Matt Ryan has potential to be a first round quarterback, and they have a really good defense with Toal leading the way. Good stuff.

If you lived in Berkeley you'd understand how overrated Nate Longshore is, and how big an impact Lynch has on a game.

I agree with what your saying until you come to the secondary. Yes, I realize that they lost three first day draft picks in the secondary, however, this is the same defense that was ranked 90-something in pass defense. Now, granted, it could get worse but I'm thinking there isn't too much farther it can slip.
I think the SEC will end up beating each other out of a chance for the national title.
Tennesse, Florida, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, and Arkansas all should be pretty good.
Kentucky has one of the best QB's in the nation. South Carolina is always dangerous with Spurrier and now he has had 2 really good recruiting classes. Alabama features the return of Nick Saban to the college ranks.
Oklahoma is another team not a lot of people are talking about but I bet they end up top 10 and beat Texas this year.
i think Alabama is a good team to watch out for in the SEC but im not sure in the top 10, but Saban is a great college coach... and Arkansas should do well with McFadden carrying, catching, and returning the ball like he does
