1. Brady Quinn [QB, Notre Dame]
2. Troy Smith [QB, Ohio State]
3. Brian Brohm [QB, Louisville]
4. Adrian Peterson [HB, Oklahoma]
5. Pat White [QB, West Virginia]
Quinn/Smith will be this year's Leinart/Young, except they won't have Reggie Bush to compete with. Brian Brohm and Pat White are going to absolutely feast on the Big East. Peterson is overrated, but he's still the best HB in college football and will almost definitley finish top 5.
I agree for the most part other than Brohm and White them I don't see being Heisman material. Good yes very good but Peterson will win becuz he will get the ball 25-30 times a game. He is overrated though. Calvin Jackson is a dominate wideout look for big things. White is just too young. He'll be a front-runner in my opinion next year.
White's a sophmore, meaning he's only 1 year younger than Smith, Brohm, and Peterson. I believe he has more starting experience than Troy Smith. He could very well not make the list, but I think he has a good shot. I don't think he'll seriously contend for the Heisman this year, but a #5 spot isn't all that unrealistic.
Brohm and White are going to put up monster seasons. Louisville and West Virginia are so far ahead of the rest of the teams in the Big East its pathetic, and Brohm and White are going to destroy the competition. Neither team will have more than 2 losses, and both QBs will put up huge numbers.
Short Smith is a 5-th year senior and has more starting experience in a harder conference. Yes they will put up monster year I agree. However it is well known that the better the team does and the harder the people they play. Means a ton in Heisman voting. Neither team will make the National Championship. While OSU has to be a front-runner. Quinn will win becuz he is with Notre Dame and they will have a great season. Brohm could very well sneak in there I just don't see White as a top Heisman candidate as a sophmore very rare. Calvin Jackson has alot of buzz around him and remind me alot of Larry Fitzgerald who was robbed. Louisville has Bush at running back and W. Virginia has Slater both will take up alot of offencive opportunites where as Quinn, Jackson, and AP are just about there teams entire offence. Neither Ted Ginn or Troy Smith will win becuz they would split votes.
Ted Ginn is so overrated its funny. He has no WR skill, he's just pure speed. And no without Santonio Holmes alongside him, he's gonna have a pretty dismal year. Troy Smith will be Ohio State's only Heisman candidate.
Speaking of Troy Smith, I have no idea where you're getting your info. Smith is a redshirted junior this year, and he didn't even start the whole season last year. He started the season as a backup to Justin Zwick. Pat White played the entire season, and therefore has more starting experience.
Calvin Johnson is a great receiver, no doubt about it, but he has Reggie Ball throwing to him. He'll put up nice numbers and go high in the draft, but don't expect him to be a Heisman candidate.
o yeah oops sry but that would still be two year instead of one. Ted Ginn is very overrated. However he is supposed to have been working on his recieving skills alot. He will be the main number one guy and he is the fastest player in college football. He can break a game open in an instance and will have plenty of opportunities this season. He is considered as good as he is becuz of all of the overall things he does. His recieving can't go anywhere, but up. lol
White only has one year of QB under his belt however Troy only missed one game this season and has played and started on signigicant occasions in the past two seasons. He has been around for 4 years can you honestly say that White has more experience.
Reggie Ball is underrated and will have a good year. And who did Larry have throughing to him can you remember cuz I can't. They will find a way to get him the ball and when they do he is dangerous.
o that is a good one Chris Leak is a very good dark horse who could easily make the final list as well as Kenny Irons. Heck really any of them could. good post.
