Tarheel Pride!
I know the Tarheels aren't that great of a football team, but I have to say....they have a good team this year. They have a couple of GREAT wide receivers that I think you will hear alot from in the coming years. Hakeem Nicks and Brandon Tate.

Last week they barely beat a little school by the name of McNeese State, but last nightthey took on a bigger school of Rutgers, and demolished them 44-12.. Yeah Rutgers aren't what they were last year or the year before, but still. Butch davis has done alot with this team!

Back to Nicks and Tate. Nicks has been a good receiver for a couple years now. Tate is on his way up! Not only is Tate a WR, but with only 5 carries, he leads the team in rushing yards with 125 yards. He also leads the team with 231 receiving yards on 8 receptions....that's in 2 games. Amazing!

Next week will be a test. It'll be at North Carolina with our last meeting against VT being a loss, 17-10. With VT's troubles this year and the close meeting last year....there might be an upset on 20 September!

I caught a little bit of the game last night and they did look very good. I'm sure we will be seeing both of the receivers playing on sundays pretty soon.

Butch Davis is a fantastic recruiter. He is just one of those coaches who should have never left the college game to go to the pro game.

NC has a chance to be good this year. The ACC is wide open really.

I expect NC to rise up and become a contender yearly in the ACC as long as they can keep Davis around.

I really hope they keep Davis! Now, back in the day, before Mack Brown went to Texas, he was at North Carolina. Those were the good days, back in 95, 96, 97....

Tate and Nicks were there before Davs. I think this is Davis' 1st or 2nd season, so we're still have alot of time to see what he can do with this team!

Sadly that is what I think will happen with Davis. A big time program will come calling and he will leave.

I hope he doesn't because I do believe he could build UNC into a winner.

Hah, I was rooting a ton for UNC to beat Rutgers (I go to UConn, hah). I really think they not only looked good, but looked great at what is supposed to have some very good talent on defense, like Courtney Greene - who is arguably a first round safety.

Thanks for beating Rutgers for us though, haha.

As much of a fan as I am of the Tarheels, I hate everything about Duke...but, they have been putting up some points this year. They beat Navy and that's a good thing, cause I am in the Army and anytime another branch loses, I love it! Go Army!

Doesn't look like anyone is a team that's just going to get rolled over this year. We'll see once we start playing inside the conference. Football, I hope is going to be like ACC basketball, where anyone can win on any given Saturday....or Thursday....LOL!

Okay, I have been a tarheel fan from the day I was born and will be til the day I die. Although I do enjoy reading all the hype about the Butch Davis Era for the UNC football team, I hate to see all these bandwagon people think they know whats gonna happen with the program or pretend to know they know anything about the program. Nobody on this page has any idea what they are talkin about but thanks for trying. The only reason I signed up for this blog was to show you how stupid you really are! FYI Butch Davis was offered plenty of jobs from big time programs including his alma mater Arkansas in which he promptly turned down every job offer. He chose UNC and chose them early to revive a program that was struggling and bring them to national prominence (which I strongly believe he will)! And who the hell is Courtney Greene?? Trimane Goddard is twice the player he is! And one last thing, the DT I believe your talking about is Marvin Austin not Mike. TARHEELS 4 LIFE!!!!

Well before we put players from this team into the hall of fame, lets see how they do against VT. I hate VT with a passion and I have to admit I would like to see UNC football do good. But lets get real about it, their competition thus far hasnt really been anygood. Now if UNC can come out and do what they have been doing, and against a fairly high caliber team, then I will eat my words.
