So, USC loses to Stanford.
Any of you get a chance to see this game? I wasn't paying much attention to it until the end when Stanford started to drive on USC at the end.
Stanford managed to score a TD at the end to tie it up and then got a one point lead from the extra point.
USC had a chance with about 40 seconds on the clock but Booty got sacked, threw an incompletion and then threw an INT.
Pretty damn surprising as Stanford isn't exactly what I would call good.
Not sure what to think of this really. Booty played like crap with four interceptions if I'm not mistaken. I just think USC fell asleep.
This should really shake up the standings now. Two top five teams have lost today, and LSU could lose to Florida at this point. Man, I tell ya, it's just becoming too hard to go undefeated to get to the National Championship these days.
It seems like a lot of us watch college football, so maybe I should put up a Week 6 College Football thread so it's easier to discuss all the games, if you guys want to.
Im not the smartest college football guy so im thinking that if LSU loses they wont neccesarily go down because of USC losing? Becuase Floridas a good team and who else could legitimatly take over 1?
Well, they probably would go down a bit. Ohio State and Cal would likely move up over them (they're undefeated, though Cal didn't play this week). However, LSU has the lead for now, but that could change, so we'll have to wait and see on that one.
South Florida is probably going to be number 4 regardless at this point which is absolutely insane. Who'd have thought? Though maybe Boston College gets ranked fourth, but I doubt it. I'd love to see a different kind of National Championship game as opposed to the usual teams every year. Like LSU and Boston College, or hell, South Florida and LSU. Would be awesome.
Sweet! I am not too fond of USC nor stanford but I always like an upset....especially when it has to do with teams normally in the top 25! Like my Tarheels beating Miami today...My Appalachain State beating and knocking Michigan out of the top 25 after being ranked in the top 10....LOL! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHA HA!!!! That should teach Michigan WHO to schedule from 1-AA next time them ****ers want a "guarantee" win!!!
Yep, yep. LSU won so they'll be number one. Despite the fact it was a close game, they should still remain there in my opinion. It's one thing if it was a close game to a poor team, but Florida is a great team in their own right, so it was expected to be a close one.
You're pretty much right in that respect, Disturbed. USC's offense has been playing like crap the past few weeks. Their defense is still one of the best, but they just don't don't have great receivers and John David Booty hasn't looked very good with out two stars at wide receiver like he had last year.
Honestly, I think Mark Sanchez will be a lot better than Booty ever was whenever he gets to start at some point. Booty isn't as much of a standout as Leinart and Palmer were. Booty seems like the guy who plays well with a great supporting cast. While he they have a plethora of good RB's, no one has stepped up at WR. Fred Davis at TE is the only real threat as someone who can catch the ball consistently.
