College Football Upset Saturday
I couldn't believe how many upsets happened this weekend. I heard a lot of people saying Oklahoma would probably end up in the National Championship as opposed to LSU. Doesn't seem like that will happen unless LSU or USC loses too. Even then I doubt it'll change anything unless they both have more than one loss.
Florida lost at the end to Auburn, West Virginia (though the game was on Friday) lost to South Florida, Rutgers lost to Maryland, and there may have been some more I can't recall.
I think USC had a close one with Washington but managed to pull away with a win in that game.
There's nothing quite like an upset weekend like this for college football. I think a lot of teams will vault in the standings. I bet Disturbed must be pretty happy because his Georgia Bulldogs should benefit a lot from this and their big win over Ole Miss.
Man, what a crazy week..

KSU beat Texas, although after talking with my brother who's a big Texas fan, that was expected.
Army beat Temple....woohoooanytime Army wins, it's an upset, no matter who they are playing!!
Illinois over Penn St. Nice to see Penn State lose...I am not a fan of them, cause they are highly over rated.
And last but not least...even though it wasn't an upset, my Tarheel held VT to only 17 points. Lost by 7, so I think that is wonderful!!!

Ya college football yesterday wa swild. 5 top 10 teams lost and USC almost lost. Just a wild day in College Football. I guess LSU are the team to beat with USC also. Those 2 teams will be in the National Champship this year

I still feel as if Oregon was the better team...too many mistakes made in the last few minutes of the game throwing the interception in their own territory and then they still had a chance to win but the guy fumbled the ball into the end-zone and Cal got a touch-back.

Whew, Miami ALMOST lost to Duke yesterday...we were only up 3 and they were on our 30 yard line in the 4th quarter, but instead of attempting a 48 yard FG they went for it on 4th and long and we made the stop. I mean, we're no BCS bowl contender this year, but that would have been embarassing...
Seriously with all these upsets, and Colt Brennan's 5 INTs...is this the twilight zone or something?

Well, with Colt throwing 60 times a game, I surpised he doesn;t throw 5 INT's every game...I mean, when you play Hawaii, they are gonna throw..not run!

Yeah, and I believe LSU topped USC in the polls and is now number 1 in the standings right now. USC had a very close game with Washington, so that hurt them quite a bit in that regard.
Right now, I'm not sure who it'll be for the National Title in January. If I had to take a guess I would say it's probably going to be LSU (though they face Florida in Death Valley next week), and either Cal or USC. I say either Cal or USC because they face each other relatively soon, so who ever wins that game will probably be fighting for the National Championship at that point.
Though I wouldn't be surprised to see a won loss team in playing for the National Championship this year again.

Don't count out Ohio State. The year they won the national title they were winning games the same way as they are this year.
Also you have Boston College. They have a very solid team and the ACC is really down this year. They could very well run the table at this point.

I'm very excited about all this, because I'm really pulling for Boston College this year (especially since Penn State is out of the race now). They have a legitimate Heisman candidate in Matt Ryan (who, by the way, went to my high school) and have been very consistent so far this year.
I love weeks like this when a lot of the big boys get upset, because it almost makes the impression there's parity in college football (even though that's a total lie).
Although Wisconsin IS in the top 5 now, they were lucky to get the W against Michigan State - their run defense looked very vulnerable, and I'm not sure they can beat OSU AND Michigan later in the year.

BC looks great and Matt Ryan is a stud. Jake Locker is just a stud and USC usualy has a game like this every year with a Pac-10 team they should handle easily. Sc Cal is going to be one of the games of the year if things play out like they should.

Yea Illinois and UNC are up and coming teams, both had great recruiting classes this past year with Illinois stealing away Arrelious Benn and Martez Wilson away from powerhouse football programs and UNC do the same with Marvin Autsin and Greg Little.
