The academic rating is pretty much exactly what it says...it shows how good of an academic school you are. Harvard would be a great academic program...Miami is more geared towards athletics and isn't as good of a school for those who want to get the best education.
Don't know how to improve the rating, maybe someone else does...
I don't believe you can. I played 10 seasons as UGA. Then went to GA Southern for 6, Navy for 2, and now Im in my 12th season with Army. I haven't ever noticed a change in the Acadmeic rankings.
Mine has gone down, it used to be four stars, now it's 3. I'm not sure how to improve it, my guess is that your recruits' GPAs factor into it.

I have had teams with high academic rating when I first start the dynasty and then go down. Is there no way to have a program with a high program rating and a high academic rating?
Im sure you can, you just have to do like IS said.. look at the recruits GPA when you are recruiting players.
Yeah thats how its done...if you want to raise your Academic rating you have to draft players with high GPA im pretty sure it shows you that when you scout them doesnt it?...and Disturbed thats awesome that you play NCAA alot its the funnest football game by far to me...your in your 12th season with Army? You should make a franchise thread....I wish there was a NCAA football game out for the 360
Unless I am missing it...there is no gpa category when you recruit players. I know there is one in madden but not in ncaa. There is field awareness and also there is potential but nothing that I see that has gpa.
when you recruit, you can "bribe" them on academics instead of playing time or coach prestige....if they have a + beside their name, that's how you can raise it. Also, raise you points on disciplne at the beginning of the season. I know people like myself like to use most to recruit and train, but if you raise your discipline points up, that could also help.
