Accepting a job * another school
im coaching the Sooners of Oklahoma, and have done pretty well for myself..I have a few 3-peat ncaa championships, plenty of conference championships and 4 heismans and countless of all americans and nfl players..Now here is my delima....Every 1-2 years, my dream job keeps opening up. Either Florida, Miami or FSU. I feel i need to be loyal to the kids that i recruit and is the pipeline that i got coming out of texas worth me getting a new pipline out of Florida?

Sounds like you've already done all there is to do at Oklahoma...maybe its time to take on a new challenge? I know what I do is when I win the championship with one team I usually take a job offer from another team and try to win one there. I don't know, maybe you don't want to play that way...I'm guessing you're far along enough that all of the present NCAA players have already graduated, so I don't know what situation those teams are in and I can't say which I'd go to...but I'd definitley move on...

Im thinking about even going to University of Illinois because lord knows that squad needs some type of help...Would that be crazy or what? Everyone would expect me to take a high price position sum where else, but i wouldn't mind bringing a new powerhouse to the BIG 10 (besides, ohio state and michingan already have enough conference titles...)Okay , the more i talk about it , the more i want to do it, but ain't nothing like the red river shootout. Who is Illinois rival...Northwestern???

i usually start out as Georgia Southern so it takes me several seasons to build them into a contender. ( I replace Duke in the ACC) After I get them up to a dominant team (playing on Heisman level) I switch to Navy.. if you want a great rivalry game Army vs Navy is great.

i went str8 to using oklahoma because i wanted to work with adrian peterson.. Then it just escalated from their. But that Illinois job is still looking pretty tempting.

i went to illinois, who was ranked 25th. i had back to back 7-5 seasons...but my coaching prestige alone allowed my to get the number 1 recruiting class my first season there. Well those incoming freshmen has just one the national championship and oklahoma has just asked me did i want my job back. After turning them down, Illionis gave me a 3 year extension...it is more gratifying taking a lower team and turning them around!!!!

I've never gotten offers from teams that actually NEED a good coach. I always get them from schools that are already powerhouses. Like I will take a school and win with them then I get offers from OU, Texas and Miami...not Idaho, South Western State U or anything like that. Those are the schools that should actually try to recruit you.

question? you know how at the end of the season, you get offers from schools or you can decline them....if you decline, HOW can you chose to coach a different team then the one you were already coaching for and the ones you declined....
Say for example, you're coaching the North Carolina Tarheels. Then you get offers from Miami, FSU and Clemson....but you don't wanna go there, so you decline them all....instead you want to coach Army. How can you do that?!?!?!?! |

I think you can delete your coach and create a new one within the same dynasty, or something to that effect...
