I'm a newbie and looking for good resources on how to play the game. Book, websites, etc. I do ok with offense, but I suck at defense and special team.s Any tips on how to develop those skills, what plays work better etc?
The Prima Official Strategy Guide for both NCAA and Madden are pretty deep and decent. They do well as far as discussing plays and packages. I recommend that one for sure, although they cost roughly $15.
Also, if you go to www.gamefaqs.com they have some strategy guides there created by normal people. You can even find the complete rosters for NCAA there!
I hope that works. Good luck and let us know how you progress!

Hey Twisted, welcome to the board. i love to play ncaa 05 so if you would like a few of the plays that work for me just lemme know, i would be more than happy to share. Also alot of the ncaa game is what works for you and your style of play. Are you more comfortable w/ man or zone? R u goo enough on offense that you do not mind giving up a big play on defense because you are blitzing? Do you play a more agressive or conservative style? All of thosse factor into urdefensive play calling, along w/ what you need to guard most against.
In case he does read this. You can go to google and search for the following
"Madden 2005 strategies"
"Madden 2005 guides"
There a few sites out there that have alot of help and great tips (things in great detail like how to recognize certain things about the defense yoru playing against etc. A few you have to pay for though.
Personally I should follow my own advice since I didn't read anything before I gave Rick's online name like 6 or 7 loses
Here's a link to a guide from ign, but I think you have to register there first. It sounds like it will be helpful from the description of it... http://guides.ign.com/guides/620934/teaser.html
