Changes I would like to see in NCAA 2005.

1. The ability to have an AD like role where you can upgrade stadiums (more seating, vendors), build new stadiums (you would have to buy land or demolish your and play all away games for a year), upgrade or build new athletic facilities as well as academic facilities. Also the ability to add 1AA teams on a probationary status like NCAA does now where you are a probationary 1A team for a year and have to play so many 1A teams to get 1A status. I don't like the fact that when you add a team you have to take one away. Also I would like the ability to petition a conference to all you in as a member for the following season.

2. A lower level team like a North Texas, TCU or UTEP should not be able to recruit with the big boy until after so many years of being a strong lower team. Yeah, those teams get some players because those players can't make the grades of bigger schools, but I should not be able to have a top 20 class with North Texas after 1 season of play. Better players are still going to want to go to better schools even if they have to go out of state.

3. Player limits at 55. If the player limit is bumped to the current 84, I think this might even out the recruiting a bit. The bigger schools then can pull more players and thus the smaller in state schools like North Texas will not be able to pull some of the left overs in the state. This also makes it harder to beat the bigger schools because they will obviously have more depth. If there is a limit on how many can dress a game on the road then that is fine, but for home games you should be able to dress everyone. That is why it is a home field advantage. The home team dress everyone and the visitors cannot, thus more depth and a stronger team.

4. Off the field problems like grade issues, curfew violations, drugs, alcohol and stuff would make the game more interesting. We don't live in a perfect world so why should the games we play be perfect. Give the ability for the coach to suspend players and pull scholarships in season.

5. The ability for players to transfer when they don't feel they are getting enough playing time as they were promised during recruiting. If you recruit and say they will play and they don't they should be able to leave for that. Like they currently do in the NCAA. The same transfer rules should apply.

6. Lower level bowl games in the real world are never sold out. Like when North Texas played Memphis this year in the New Orleans bowl, there were maybe 10,000 in the stands. That should probably be carried over to the game.

7. Recruiting year round would be nice also. Like in the current recruiting environment some teams are recruiting Juniors now. If we can't go that deep, how about either prior to or at the start of the season you can start recruiting. You can set up visits and stuff for home games during the season. Plus maybe setup in-homes visits for coaches and stuff like they currently do. Right now all there is are 4 choices calling or visits. Also acedemics should be a choice as something your school should push, especially if the ability to upgrade academics is added. Some players will commit early, others will wait until signing day. Also there should be the ability to keep recruiting players and getting some decommits from other schools. Plus if a coach gets fired then some commits would go and look around at other schools. Also you should be able to offer as many scholarships during a class as you have open, maybe even more. When you start getting commits you could pull some offers to make sure you are under the 84 limit. As long as you have points or money you can continue to recruit. That way you can offer a few stud player, but you can still be sure the players you need will still get to be recruited and when the studs fall through, you still have a backup plan. Hell maybe even just setup visits and stuff like that so you can get a feel of how the players like you and then offer a scholarship to them. That way you can control how many scholarships you give out.

8. Alumni and fan base should grow as people graduate from your school. The more alumni you get the better fan base, the better support. You might be able to have alumni help build the new facilities. Also, during recruiting maybe an alumnis brother or son is now looking at your school which would make him want to come there more.

9. Players playing with injuries would be a nice addition. Sometimes players do this and hurt themselves more, but they do it. Maybe make it a coaches choice to risk further injury by playing the player.

10. Different crew announcing the game, even if it is a radio announcer. Almost all college games have crews that work them and they are generally heard in the local area on the radio or maybe a local TV station on a public access channel. I would like to see that addeded as well.

11. Record keeping throughout the dynasty of best seasons by players would be nice to see how players compare to the ones from the past.

12. NCAA sanctions if you cheat during recruiting. Giving the ability to cheat during recruiting.

13. Assistant coaches would be a nice addition. When you start at a program, you have a specific budget in which to hire your assistants. As your budget increases, or one are is failing you can hire a new assistant to help your program. For example you could hire a strength and conditioning coach to help your players have more stamina and strength during the game. A QB coach might be able to teach your younger QB better techiniques to improve accuracy and strength. Those coaches could help specifically recruit players based on their skill sets. The better your team becomes, your assistants could be hired away and you would have to replace them.

14. If you are a lower level program, when you travel to a larger program for a game you usually get a specified amount of money for it. For example when a team like Troy State came up to play Nebraska, they got something like $500,000 for the game. When you do something like that in this game, it not only gives you a huge loss, but it does not help you in any way for your program. It would be nice to play larger programs for bigger payouts so that you could build your athletic program and school up.

15. Off season training, it would be nice to be a little more specific in how certain athletes train. Like for WR, it would be nice to work on their hands, speed and awareness. For lineman they would need to work on their strength and awareness. During the off-season mostly the players who played the prior season have good gains. The backups only gain minimal points. It would be nice to target those backups and give them training programs that could help make them a starter.

16. Fans and boosters have some affect on the program, like if your going through a bad season and they want changes made.

That is all I can think of for now, I will go play and think of more later.

Right on! I really like your ideas. I want to see a more in depth recruiting season. That is one of the best parts of the game. I want more information about the recruits. Family life, does his girlfriend want him to stay close to home. Can we offer the girlfriend a acedemic scholarship to make him come play for us? What about steroids? It would be cool if you had a bad coach that looked the other way if players took steroids.

Does EA Sports actually get these wish list requests or should they be sent to the EA Sports site directly?

This is an unofficial board... hopefully the days will come we can get someone from ea sports to look here but right now I don't think it happens...

But sending your requests to EA won't do any good either I emaild them last year with bugs in the game and they were not fixed.. and those weren't suggestions they were BUGS.

It wouldn't surprise me if they looked at these wish lists. The consumers usually have the best ideas. I am going to see if I can email or call someone at EA Sports and see for myself if they look at these ideas.

I liked everything you said except for the year-round recruiting and the ability to cheat during recruiting. Year-round recruiting wouldn't be so great because people would probably forget about it and it's just better to do it all at once. The ability to cheat during recruiting would be stupid because no one would use it because who wants to get sactioned?

The ability to cheat during recruiting doesn't mean you will get caught. I would just like to see the game resemble actuality. I am not saying that I would cheat, but teams get sanctioned every now and then. This game does not have any of that.

As far as the year round recruiting, I would love to be able to bring recruits to home games to watch me pound a rival school that they are considering. The only way it would be a pain is if your were similating your seasons, then yes it would be a pain, you would have to be able to set up your visits early on and then allow the season to be similated.

It doesn't matter, I don't think anyone wants to get sanctioned for years to get one good player.

Dude those have got to be some of the dumbest ideas I have ever heard. Cheating during recruting, Drugs and Alcohol. It is a E rated game. Your idea about Recruting year round is cool but come on there is some things that just shouldnt be in a game. so just give it up.

I never said that the players were going to get drugs and alcohol, just that issues would come up involving those. There is not a program in the country that goes through a season without having to discipline some athlete for one thing or another.

An example of this would be Chris Rix sleeping through his finals and not getting to play in the bowl game. The player from Nebraska who hit the Missouri fan after the game. Cedric Benson from Texas getting suspended for breaking into an apartment to recover a missing plasma tv that was stolen from him. Plus yes there have been some drug and alcohol charges against players. This is an element of the current game and should be in this one.

As far as calling my ideas some of the dumbest and they should not be in the game. Well that is your opinion, I like those ideas and since this is a wish list I can put whatever I would like to see in the game. Coming on to a board and posting personal attacks with your first post is probably a good way to get yourself banned also. By personal attack I mean you called my ideas "some of the dumbest ideas I have ever heard", thus my ideas are dumb. I don't appreciate that as well as most people don't. I also don't appreciate one of the other posters calling my ideas stupid. If you don't like them then say you don't like them, you don't have to personally attack someone for sharing their ideas. Also, if you don't like an idea you can choose not to respond to it if it is such a waste of your time because it is dumb or stupid.

I have to agree with O.B.O again. I think the 15 ideas are great and for those who think they are the dumbest ideas are crazy. I have some more ideas that I would like to see in 2005.

I would like the opportunity to add an accent color to the uniforms.

I would like to have pre-season kick-off classics.

I would like to have the ability to sign shoe contracts with nike or adidas. The better your team does the more money its worth. You can give your coach a raise or improve stadium conditions, (ex add a jumbo-tron or add an extra deck of seats).

I would like to see more JC transfers, with the ability to recruit more top community college players.

I would like to see different TD celebrations, different entrances into the game, and more unique celebrations after winning a game.

They do have people transfer from JuCo. If you look at their stats I'm pretty sure under location says year and it'll be "freshman, sophomore(JuCo) or Junior(JuCo).

I just thought of another idea. When players are cut from rosters they out to be able to transfer to another school. I myself have had to cut players that were in the 70's because I had too many extra players at a position that were better/younger with greater potential. Currently those players are gone. It would be nice to have the chance to pick up some of those players and early on when your starting a new dynasty. Especially to fill holes either through recruiting or graduation.

I must have thought that all the recruits were freshman. I will look into it....I am sure you are right.

Here is one more thing that really needs to be changed.

I was Texas A&M the other night and that team in real life doesn't have cheerleaders.....they have yell leaders. It would be more realistic if A&M had yell leaders in the game.

OK one more thing.........

What about having the opportunity to have a playoff. We should be able to create our own unique playoff format.

Yeah, that sounds good. They should be in the recruiting class, because in real life if a player gets cut he's not gonna just sit there, more than likely he'll transfer.
