Owls Lose Big to Arizona St.

First Game A Tough One For Our Temple Owlz

The Owlz began their season today with a loss to a tough Arizona State Team. The Game was pretty Ugly From the start as the Sun Devils won the toss and elected to kick the ball to the Owlz on the first play from Scrimmage Mike Mcgann was looking for Bruce Gordon going across the middle of the field and it was picked off by the Sun Devils Right Outside Linebacker Jamar Williams he was tackled shortly after he made the

of five INTS by the Sun Devils

interception. The Sun Devils now had great field position as it took three straight plays to their star wide receiver Derek Hagan he caught two passes on the first to plays which brought them down to the Owlz one yard line and there he was given the ball on a reverse and he took it into the Endzone at that point it was seven to zero in the Sun Devils favor.

Two More interceptions on the Owls next two drives put us down by alot early Twenty-One To Zero. Tough Defense by Our Owls and better offensive play led the Owls to tieing the ball game at twenty-one in the third quarter but that was long lived as right after the Owls tied the game up on the Sun Devils next three drives they took it to the house on long plays from scrimmage. The First was a Seventy-Six Yard pass from Quarter back Sam Keller to Wide-Receiver Terry Richardson. The Capitilized on that score on their next two drives with two more deeps passes one being a 66 yarder and the other being another 76 yarder.

That third quarter killed any hopes the owls still thought they had. As the final quarter of play only saw two points added to the teams total and that was win the Arizona State Defense sacked McGann for the saftey. This Was a tough loss but our guys showed heart for atleast part of the game. We all know they can do better then this and we fully suspect for them to do so September 10th when they play At Wisconsin.

Interesting Fearme.. I never saw this thread now.. What's neat about it is that Your DE, Mike Mendenhall..graduated 4 years ago in a town about 25 minutes away from me called Paulsboro. He was a state finalist in Wrestling and a darn good football player. Nice to see him on the game, I'll definately be checking your thread. Keep us updated.

Owls Lose Third Straight

Problems Continue For Mcgann And Temple

The Owls New this game would be just as tough as their last when the Toledo Rockets at 2-0 came to town. Toldeo Quarterback Bruce Gradowski was slated for a big game. But that the Owls defense wasnt going to let that happen and they let that be known early in the first play of the game Mike Mendenhall Sacked Gadowski.

MedenHall The Owls Few Bright points
Sacks All-Conference QB Gadowski

After The Sack The Rockets had fourth down. They Punted it and Brown called for a fair catch. It was time for the owls first drive of the day. McGann looked great connecting on a deep pass to Hinds which set up Brown for the one yard TD and the Owls had one of their first leads of the year. After that it was Punt after punt after punt until Mid way through the 2nd Temple got points on the board as Gradowski hit Clarke for a 11 yard TD. The Rockets tried to go down field for another score on their next drive but was stopped as the Owls got a INT in the redzone. No body scored the rest of the half. Score at Half time was 7-7

By half the Owls had already allowed 6 sacks...on the opening drive of the first half they allowed the seventh which forced them to punt. Then on the Rockets next drive We got another INT. We still couldnt get anything going so we were forced to punt again. On the Rockets next drive they were threating again deep in Owls territory when we got yet another INT for our 3rd of the game. We drive down field determined to score...we get stoped at their 35 and we are forced to try the field goal. Our kicker doesnt have a very strong left but with 31 MPH winds at his back he easily makes the 52 yard field goal. After that the rest of the third was scoreless and things looked good going into the fourth as we had a 10-7 Lead.

The Fourth quarter started off well as we got our 4th int of the day while they were again about to score. But on the very next play McGann was hit while throwing and it plopped right into their players hands...he took it 13 yards for the TD...and gave them the lead. They had another TD on their next possesion and we were quickly down by two scores. We got the ball with 3:39 left in the game. And we were determined to score. One long run by Brown and a couple of deep passes by McGann lead us into the endzone with a 21 yard pass from McGann to Allbrooks but we then failed the two point conversion. We then held them on their drive and it was our turn again...this time we could take the lead. So we were driving down field we had gotten pretty far. McGann goes back to pass he rolled out to his right the defense is pressuring him he tried to make a off balanced pass to Brown the HB the pass was intercepted by the CB and taken 60 yards for the score...it was over at that point. Final score 28-16 Toledo..the Owls face maybe there weakest opponent in week 5 Western Michigan...its our second home game and our fans need a win come on guys beat the mustangs.

Well that was fun...sucks being 0-3 though...o well oh and Sick...your boy is like the one good thing about my team...he already has 6 sacks in three games and i dont even control him..he is really good...well thank you for reading and glad to see you will reading more...im sure ill get more readers after christmas

Thats awsome that you are putting game pics in, sounds like Mendenhall may help ya pull a few games out. And a pointer for ya, I always find that when I'm using a sub-par team that somtimes its best if i use my fastest RB, not my best.

Owls Get Blown Away By The Hurricanes

The Owls Came Into last nights game knowing that if they wanted a bowl game this year that they would have to upset the Hurricanes. But after that first kick off was kicked it was clear that The owls had no hope. On the Hurricanes first drive it only took them four plays to get into the endzone the play that got them there was just a simple off-tackle hand off to the Junior Running Back Tyrone Moss, but he got wonderful blocking all they way down field until he had one man to beat. That man was Durrel Favis the Junior FS for the Owls, Davis went in for the tackle and was just ran completly over by Moss. Moss went the remaining 15 yards for the score. Then On the Owls next Drive Moss ran one in

Hurricane Tail back Moss
from 36 Yards out and it was an early

Runs Over Owl Free Saftey
14-0 Lead for the hurricanes
Davis On his was to the Endzone

The Rest of the first half went the same way and going into half time the score was 35-0 Miami. The third quarter proved to be no better for the Owls as they were held scoreless again while Miami put up fourteen more with two one yard runs by FB Hill and RB Moss. On the Owls next drive they elected to bring out Quarter back Mike Holley in hopes of him doing a better job then McGann on Holley's first drive he went three and out.

And that ended the third quarter. In the fourth Miami again struck on their first drive but this time only a field goal the score was now 52-0 Miami. On the Owls next drive they all of a sudden but much to late got smart and started handing the ball off to the offenses only bright spot Tim Brown he would end that drive with a Twenty yard gain to atleast give the Owls the dignity of not getting shut out.

The Hurricanes put in their back ups after this and did not score again. On the Owls next drive they again fed the ball to Brown. He gained the most yards for his team on one play in that drive with a 32 yard gain but then he coughed up the ball when he was hit. The Canes then just held the ball getting a few first downs until there wasnt any time left on the clock. The game was over and so was the Owls shot at a bowl game. Final Score was 52-7 Miami....not even close.

Dang man.

Are you simming the games and watching them, or are you playing them. Tough tough losses. I just hope that you are able to get at least 2 or three good prospects becasue itll be tough with that record. Good luck and keep up the posts. Awesome with the pics in them.

Yikes....
You are going to struggle on offense it looks like.
Your QBs and HBs are not that good. You have some good wideouts though. Hopefully you can get teh ball to your wideouts, and your defense plays very good. Maybe you can get 6 wins and a possible bowl berth. Any luck getting recruits during the season? You need to focus on some qbs and rbs this year. Ill make a player for your next offseason but you have to try and recruit him LOL. I dont want him going to some other school....He gotta be a Temple Owl lol.

Well actually did pretty good on offense the first game...lost though...thanks to 5 INTS but its SOOO lame...only 1 INT was my QB's fault sorta...see 3 of them were from lets say their FS tipping the ball and it going half way across the field so that their CB can dive and make the INT....then one went straight off my WR's Hands and into theirs......No good....

O well Final Score was 39-32 With out the INT's we would have won ...o well

Our Player of the game was Jamel Hinds with 6 rec's for 106 yards and a TD

Other Important stats for our offense was...

WR Bruce Gordon had 5 rec for 125 yards
And
WR Travis Shelton had 2 Rec's for 103 yards...

The FR QB Brandon Simpson had a 120.1 rating completed 15 out of 32 for 393 yards and 1 TD...5 INT's :-\

FR Running Back Juan Edwards rushed for 71 yards on 14 Carries..

Thats a sloppy update but its okay next will be better

*CAP Updates*

Cody Reese- No Stats Recorded In a 41-28 Loss To Wisconsin

Well if your Qb can get your guys to catch the ball instead of knocking it to the defenders then you should be feasibly able to win 6 games.

If you can get at least 2 maybe 3 guys with your in season recruiting then maybe that will help some of your key positions. I hope you can make a bowl game even if it is something like the hodunk bowl LMAO. Any bowl at this point is really good for your team and hopefully you can make it there.

-Simpson is playing really well for a 65 OVR QB but had +7 at the end of the game to make him 72 ovr...

-My Starting SS is 59 OVR....but has two INT's already this year...which is the most on the team....ahh weird...
-Made Me really mad they had to win by 10...being as they had plenty of time left on the play clock so they didnt have to kick that last FG...

Nice Nice win over Buffalo.

I thought you would be in trouble with your QB, but hes playing very very good. Your receiver may not of gotten the catches last game but he helped win it with those HUGE HUGE returns. Your team is getting better weekly, and hopefully playing this good will get you some in season recruits to commit early before they get snatched up somewhere else.

Good luck in your next games. Simpson for QB of the year HAHA

Yeah I thought I would be too....he is playing pretty good...although he does have 11 INT's but he has 10 TD's to go along with that so its semi-okay....Yeah those Returns were huge......Every week it seems to be some one who steps up and takes control of the game....Juan Edwards the 70 ovr FR running back did in the game against FIU...and here is how that game went...

Week 6 2-2 Temple At 1-2 FIU

Box Score

*****HB Terence Wright Narros his list to three temple being #1 we can now invite him to our campus for an 'official' visit i invite him to watch us take on a tough opponent in the Minnesota Golden Gophers week 9

Side Note...I was reading the notes on the playes and on the ***QB Gerry Frye it says his High School coach is a little worried about his college potential so i looked at what it says next to his potential and it was poor...i then went to check all the recruites still interested in me...and they are all poor besides the five star running back who is average....o well maybe i can make them see their full potential or help them over achieve

That was one heck of a game. I take it there wasnt alot of offense through the air with a great ground attack. You keep this up and all your so-so starters will be turning out to be pretty darn good.

How did Gordon do though? I like this kid and you need to ut his stats up every game haha. he had 4 great games in a row, but I assume he was overshadowed this week by Edwards.

Edwards should be player of the week too because he almost single handedly won that game for you from the looks of it.

Also does your kicker suck??, or did you just go for a two point conversion in the third quarter?

That was a great game...very exciting....No Simpson didnt get it going in the air that game so i was lucky that Edwards stepped up Yeah i really like Gordon too...to bad he is a Senior :-\...and at 78 OVR...probley wont be able to be drafted...enless he really progresses before the season is over.... Nah my Kicker is actually really good...i know there was a reason i went for two both times and didnt get it... I thin the first time we scored we were down 7-6 If we would have gotten the 2 point conversion then it would have been 14-7 and we would have been up by a TD...instead we failed to complete the two point conversion and the score was 12-7.....after that they scored 10 straight points giving them the lead 17-12 the next time i scored i went for two again because if i made it i would be ahead by three instead of two....but then i missed that one too....o well hope that helps....i stayed up late last night so i have some games to report...sorry i dont think i have Gordons stats for every game enless he was Player of the game...but ill do it for his last three regular season games...and his bowl game ....

Brandon Simpson(Temple): 22-37,306 yards, 6 TD's, 3 CAR, 1 TD

--Notes On that Game--
I know what your all thinking whoa...you beat Minnesota by that much? Time for some slider changes!!...well i disagree at this moment...the sliders seem to be working just fine...just this game my guys were flawless...i know Simpson had 300+ yards,Edwards had 100+ rushing yards, and Hinds AND GORDON had 100+ yards receiving.... and not only did our team doing everything pefectly their team helped us out ALOT... and that measured from their star WR fumbling the ball after picking up 30 yards....The ball bouncing off one of the blockers helmets on a punt return...i have a picture to prove that one...so yeah everything went bad for them i think we had atleast four fumble recoveries and 2 INT's...

You Cant really Tell because they havent gotten that right in games yet but that ball is bounching off his head....

Week 9 Was the week that we had the Five star running back Terence Wright come and watch our game for an Official Visit....that visit sealed the deal as he commited to Temple....

Also got a Soft Verbal from **** FS Eric Cribbs but during out bye weeks in week 10 and 11 he visited Michigan and decided he would rather go there....

We only have two more recruits looking at us...three star WR Jesse Tate He has Temple at first on his list ahead of Purdue and Michigan....he is coming for his official visit Week 14 our final game ...against Houston...

The second is three start QB Gerry Fry he has Temple at first ahead of Texas and Ohio State he is also coming to visit week 14 in our final game...against Houston

**CAP UPDATES**

Cody Reese- Hasnt Played a single down..i sure hope he transfers or gets alot better

Steve Stifler- has 25 Tackles 5 TFL 2 Sacks and 1 INT

Bruce Gordon has 30 REC 629 Yards 20.9 AVG 8 TD

Well bout to go play our next game which is At #14 Auburn...should be a hecka tough game but with the way my guys have been playing we may just pull off the upset....

oh yah and in the top 25 it says Temple is now receiving votes to be in the top 25!!
