Favorite Band: Boy Hit Car for anything 1999-Now and then Fear Factory, Slipknot and Static-X... though Slipknot is falling.
Anything before 1999 - Metallica.

Well I got Leeds Tickets to see Rage (My favourite band) and Im absolutely buzzing, cant wait. No-One I personally know has seen them (for obvious reasons) though saying that I remember Ripper saying he has. Anyway, I cant wait. Ive seen enough bands to theoretically last me a life time, but I have never looked forward to seeing anyone as much.
The same gig has Metallica, A7X, Slipknot, Tenacious D, Anti Flag, Serj Tankian, QOTSA etc playing. Gonna be immense.

I saw LP live...they put on a good show...they recorded the album with jay-z three days before i saw em here in jerz...nd they actually brought jay-z out on stage..it wus pretty sick
The Eagles are playing a huge gig an hour away from me. It's an outdoor concert with John Fogerty of CCR, KT Tunstall & Sam Roberts (Canadian rocker). I'd LOVE to go because I live all of the acts, BUT the gf's Dad is getting married that day. grrrrrr
I bought Fall Out Boy's Live Album today ****Live In Phoneix. Nothin too special on it, exept they covered Micheal Jackson's Beat It with John Mayer on Guitar. I tell you, if you havn't heard the song yet, it is amazing (more so the studio version than the live), maybe my favourite song ever.
Is anyone here into Poison The Well type stuff? Ive started to get into it, but its not a genre I know too much about, so I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.

Can't say I've heard of it Titans, but judging from a quick google I can't say that I would like it.
For me, I'd have to say my favourite artists are David Usher (not sure how many of you will have actually heard of him) and Five for Fighting. For some reason I like alot of 90's music (Vertical Horizon, and alot of those catchy one hit wonders) ... I think it's because I didn't really enjoy music until I was in high school (early 2000s) so I've been playing catch up.
Meaningful lyrics do alot for me (catchy beat helps too), and causes me to like many various artists/bands from different genres ... even some country, rap and hip hop/R&B. Though most songs I like would probably fall under alternative and whatever you call the genre Five for Fighting and Vertical Horizon fall under.

Hmmm. I'm a big music guy and I listen to quite a few genres of music. But, my favorite band of all time is a band called HURT. These guys are just amazing musicians (lead singer can play EVERY stringed instrument) and put on one hell of a live show. Check them out if you have some time. If you like alternative rock, they may be for you.
I read a review that called them the "Love child of Tool and Nirvana". I really don't get that from them, but I guess a lot of other people do.

Usher has a pretty distinct voice. His older stuff with Moist was rockin'...Push, Silver, Resurrection, Leave It Alone (luv that tune). The Moist tunes take me back to my high school days when they, with the Hip, were one of Canada's biggest groups. Actually, now I'm gonna have to download some of their tunes to my Zune when I get home. That Superman song by Five for Fighting is a classic.
i gotta zune too...its pretty sweet
but i got one when they first came out....i prefer them over ipods....they have better things on em...with bigger screens for the same price...and u get more memory too
Oh cool, Duke. Moist sounds vaguely familiar, but I don't think I've ever heard any of their songs ... and if I have, it's been a while. I'll have to check them out when I get home.

HAHA. The wedding is off because she didn't get divorced from her ex-hubby in time. I have my tickets and WILL he gettin' my groove on this weekend!!!
I had a blast the last time Moncton had a huge concert like this. In 2005, I got to see the Rolling Stones, Maroon 5, The Tragically Hip and Our Lady Peace. The show drew about 75, 000 people, so I have a feeling that the Eagles will also pack em' in.
I camped in a friend's front yard for the Stones concert. He lives in an area with really heavy prostitution, so we spent hours before the concert watching dozons of random dudes hooking up with pros......eeeeew. It exists everywhere, but to see it so up close was a really weird experience.
Oh yeah, I also scored some tickets for a Who show in Hamilton, Ontario (Oct). I've always loved them and have yet to see them live, so I can't wait!!!
The Eagles concert was AWESOME. It got muddy, but we didn't get much rain. Fogerty got everyone moving and at one point said "Y'all remind me a lot of Woodstock."
Being a Joe Walsh fan, I was glad to see that he was featured for a big portion of the Eagles songs. He did a few solos (Rocky Mountain Way, Funk #49, Life's Been Good, etc) and wailed some really wicked guitar solos on just about every song.
Here are some pics. There are some decent overhead shots that give you an idea of how big the crowd was (55k).
Well I got Leeds Tickets to see Rage (My favourite band) and Im absolutely buzzing, cant wait. No-One I personally know has seen them (for obvious reasons)
I saw them on Saturday. Un****INGbelievable. I don't know how else to describe it. Best concert I've ever seen.
I started off in about the 3rd row. There was no pre-arranged seating, it was just a free for all. Everyone was just getting smashed. People were passing out... it was insane. I had to get out after Bulls on Parade or I thought I wouldn't make it. Here's what someone wrote about it:
Quote:
Rockers RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE stopped their performance at the Lollapalooza festival three times on Saturday (02Aug08) when surging crowds threatened to crush fans nearest the stage.
Thousands of revellers flocked to watch the band headline the event in Chicago, Illinois - including a number who had broken into the venue by hopping over fences.
The crush was so severe, singer Zack De la Rocha stopped the gig after three songs to plead with fans to step back. Later he paused again to consult with security bosses.
It's unknown if any injuries were suffered during the performance, but MTV reports at least 12 people were admitted to the medical tent.
Local newspapers have reported at least one breach of the venue's perimeter fence.
Rage Against the MAChine were joined at Lollapalooza by Chicago native rapper Lupe Fiasco and Kanye West, who closed the event on Sunday night (03Aug08).
I also applaud last night’s headliners, Rage Against the Machine, and not just because they rocked my face off. There’s an example of a band doing exactly what they’ve always done-- playing the hits, and playing them loud, and expending enough energy in a single song to power Radiohead’s entire global-warming-conscious light show-- but I think the most important thing they showed last night was maturity, i.e. the sense to know that the situation at the front of the stage was completely out of hand, and they needed to stop playing or people were going to die. The admittedly weak picture above is my shot from a staircase far from the stage where I took refuge after not making it into the photo pit; all it took was 30 seconds of “Testify” for me to realize the photo pit was not a place I wanted to be, and thank my lucky stars for the distance.
From what I read, there were 75,000 people there (although not all of them were at Rage) and about 2,000 broke through a fence to come in. Complete insanity.

Even with the chance of having stones thrown at me, I would have to say that the Dave Matthews Band is my favorite!! I think it is because of my college days and the mass amount of plants that I smoked.
Opened with Testify, the Bulls on Parade. I'm having trouble remembering the exact order from there but I know they played Know Your Enemy, Calm Like a Bomb, Ashes in the Fall (surprised me), People of the Sun, Guerrilla Radio. They ended with Wake Up (where Zack gave a speech that was unreal). Then for the encore they came out with Freedom and then Killing in the Name.
What made it really sick was that before the encore all 70+ thousand of us started chanting "**** you I won't do what you tell me."

Rage are an awsome band. I didn't really get into them until recently when my band and I were trying to cover Killing in the Name, but after that I've been hooked.
Killing in the Name is probably my favourite song of theirs, both to listen to and to play. I absolutly love singing (shouting?) it, its great just to throw everything behind it and then listen to it back, more so than any other song we've played.
It sounds like a sick set IS. Did they play Bombtrack? Sleep Now In The Fire? Fistful Of Steal? No Shelter? They are a few that stick out as songs you didnt mention I would like to hear. But I am desperate for them to play Take The Power Back, possibly more than any other song..

They played all of those songs except No Shelter and Take the Power Back. I was kind of hoping to hear one of those songs, but oh well, the concert was still the best of my life.

I hope to hell they play Take The Power Back, its possibly my favourite Rage song.
Glad to hear Bombtrack and stuff was on the list, hopefully it is for us too. Not long now, less than 2 weeks. Some pretty sick bands playing the whole weekend.
