Here's my list i started this at about 2pm st today but forgot hit post so a few over lap

this doesn't include groups for example Black Thought, Andre 3k and Big Boi, Bun B, Chuck D as mentioned, Method Man, ODB.

Em is great but there is an argument for all of these guys to be put ahead of him lyrically.

Enimen doesn't have a good voice for rapping, his voice and style are irritating and hard on the ears. He has no smoothness at all, and his lyrics don't have any good lines at all. Though... I do like that loose yourself song.

I also don't believe he is top 5 all time but he is one of the most unique rappers, i will give him that.

He isnt even top 3 white rappers, Ad Rock, MCA, Mike D own him imo...

Well, if you asked someone who dosn't know much about Rap to name a rapper, I can guarteen you that s/he will tell you Eminem or 50 Cent. Its just because he is so well known.

Damn, I cant agree more. I stopped liking, Kanye West's rapping a long time ago. Theres something about his lyrics that make you tired of his songs.

I never once liked 50 Cents rapping, and voice. Plus I got tired of I get Money after 4 days.

I liked Lil Wayne's Duffle Bag Boy, but nothing else. I'm not a fan of his rapping, and I don't think he's really lyrically talented.

West is just weird and all of his songs get way too much airplay. 50 as i stated before, had some good songs in the past but has gotten alot worse as of now. Lil Wayne is alright, ive liked a few of his songs before, but now im generally over him. He does have an interesting voice but best rapper? Please.

I try to cut Lil Wayne some slack. Because hes still Lil. I don't like Kayne's attitude though, he complains if he doesn't win awards and stuff. Hes not of big as he thinks he is.

I dont listen to Kanye, or many rappers at all, but I think as an all round talent, he is better than most out there...I found the thing he did at the awards the other year funny too. Spoilt, sure, but he damn well had a point.

And yeah, Patten's right, I was naming The Beastie Boys..

This time ive heard of them, but i still really don't believe them to be better, more popular or whatever you want to measure them up against with.

I think they are...Music is highly opinionated of course. But I think lyrically speaking they are far better. Talent wise they are better. Beats wise they are better. Execution wise they are better. Originality they are better. About the only thing that Em beats them in, for my money, is sales (Im guessing he does)...But if we were measuring music by that, then some royally **** bands are amazing..

I forgot to mention 8 mile. That movie is in my top 20 movies. It was great, and it even inspired me.

Same. The Beastie Boys are gone They were popular in the 90's, I only heard 3 of their songs.

Ive heard a handful of songs, their raps seem slow and a bit cheesy to me. But maybe im not listening to the right songs. Show me one or two.

Depends what you want from the song...I suppose the classics are: "She's Crafty", "Girls", "Shake Your Rump", "Fight For Your Right", "Brass Monkey" "Root Down", "Sabotage", "3 MCs And 1 DJ", "Intergalatic", "Body Movin". But barely a song can lead you wrong.
